With the squad we have there may be some benefit in seeing who could become available eg from Saints on at least short term loans instead of DR so they get used to how he wants to play and he gets a closer look at them but whatever he does I trust him to know what’s best in who to choose and the timing of doing so.

Can see it both ways, it don't look great that we can't name a 21 man squad on a regular basis but if those 18 are fit then it seems pointless bringing players in just so we can fill out the squad with no intention of playing them. And given how we have played there is no reason to bring anyone in to the 17 at this stage.

I am not pushing for us to use dr quite the opposite i just remember last year with a slightly bigger squad after the transfer deadline if a player as not played at least 5 games on dr then he can not be used on dr. With the size of our squad and being under special measures Kyle needs to keep this in mind.

Yes,good point..the complexities of all these rules can cause huge problems later..what special measures are we under ? If it was explained last night I missed it..we haven’t signed a player for months are we not allowed to ?

It has been rumoured but not reported by the club that by receiving an advance from the rfl at the backend of last season put us in special measures, similar to the salford debacle but on a smaller scale . It's my guess on reading between durgans response to player recruitment that there is some restrictions on signings and I would hope that once revenue comes into the club in the form of home games against barrow , batley , fev n bradford provided we get reasonable attendances should be able to pay the rfl loan back and take us out of special measures giving us freedom to sign more players. That's how I read it anyway.

I didn't quite make it today ........ in the pub with the Fax top on but the weather was terrible! So I stayed in the pub for a cosy few pints. Now .... if the club hadn't charged the booking fee I'd have gone having paid for an advance ticket! I wonder how many other fans did the same? Not quite as dominant as in previous games and less cohesive across the park but Barrow played their part with some good defence, asked some questions in attack, they never went away or could feel that the points were in the bag until the last few minutes. Great to see double the number of supporters from the Cats game present getting behind the boys on such a poor day. Well done lads.

On the game , it was an average performance perhaps dictated to by the conditions and felt a bit like a last year performance, noticed eastmond coming down to the touchline to say a few things, I'd be interested to see how he reacts to that performance and should give us a better indication as to his man management skills.

Decent performance in really difficult conditions - some good performances from individuals - thought Inman was excellent, sometimes been critical of his service from dummy half, but was good today, and looked dangerous when running with the ball. Forwards were strong again, especially Calcott and Douglas, and JWH definitely growing into stand off role. Discipline again fairly good apart from Inmans silly shove, and the sin binning of Dixon. Judging by the look Eastwood gave him when he came off he was not impressed. On Hurrell seemed to grow into the game, disappointed he didnt back himself when close to the line,in the first half but there was more than enough to show what a good temporary addition he'd be, especially if we can use him more effectively close to opposition line.

Don’t think Hurrell touched the ball much in the first quarter as most of it went down the left side, must be hard coming back from a serious injury and into new side. Charlie’s still a few weeks off so still short in the 3/4’s, does anyone know if he played in the 1985 cup for Fax would cup tie him for Saints and the Challenge Cup. Looking but haven’t found anything yet?

I thought it was decent crowed today even without Tony Fax

Crowd was about 1400 according to someone at work, I didn't go myself, similar to TonyFax I was in town, had some lunch. I felt cold, and the weather was garbage, but I went home instead. Mainly because I didn't want to pay £20+ to stand out in the cold all afternoon, could have stayed in the Piece Hall and done that for nowt. From following via Xitter it seems like we did ok in the conditions, its another 2 points and that's what matters, Didn't expect Fev to lose at London and York have had a terrible start so need to be on guard next couple of weeks as they're going to want to try and bounce back
