I'll be down the Shay on Sunday. (The last game I missed was an infirmary cup game about 8 years ago) I just find it impossible to persuade friends & colleagues and their kids down the Shay for the value and product on offer. However, have a read of the Huddersfield Examiner, and take a look at HTFC's superb marketing for the first game of the season against a suburb of London. They're expecting 18000.

If I was the average Joe, it's a no brainer where to take the family if I wish to attend a sporting event within driving distance or day ticket.

Managed to battle my way through South Yorkshire's entire population to get into their packed out "stadium" a couple of times recently, as well as their home game against us.

They're a lot better than their league position suggests, whereas on the evidence I saw three weeks ago, you're a lot worse than your position suggests. Might be a painful afternoon for Halifax.

We could've won both those games against Leigh with a bit of luck. They were both level going into the last five minutes or so and penalty decisions went against us. From what I've seen of them, they're not as good as they were last year, though I accept they've had a few players out.

Im not dining out on a close loss to Leigh though.
