Nigel Wright had been out of the game since he left his post as assistant to Jimmy Lowes, he spent some time in Australia before returning to the UK to run his business in London, his wife's work is also mainly around that area too. He wanted to get back into the game in a coaching role, and ideally wanted to be a Head Coach, and get back involved with SL, Des/Barrow announced he was Schoeys assistant a good few weeks before anything was signed, leaving Des in a predicament cos he'd of looked a right tool if he hadn't done afterwards.

Maybe he was told Schofield would be in charge until he could sort his business commitments out, I don't know, but good luck to him, just hope he's still there when we play them, otherwise Im gonna have to pay to get in!

Feel sorry for the Barrow club to be fair. Its not really their fault that they have an idiot in charge as money talks and an idiot with money might well be better than nothing. Cant do with Schofield really. He was a great player and i respect that but he has been gobbing it off for years about how RL should do this and do that but when it comes down to it he is left wanting himself. Set himself up to be shot down really.

Not sure about feeling sorry for Barrow, if Dessie was n't there where would they be? He's given some good times recently but it's a bit of a rollercoaster, not unlike watching Fax I guess.
