As Fax won’t be in the Final it won’t matter where it is? Not sure that’s true. Surely the two Clubs that do partake in the Final will still need to know where it is. Bit harsh otherwise.

I really hope this is not true and I agree with Brew that they should not play the Grand Final on artificial but if the artificial pitch is good enough for the RFL to be used in Super League it will be good enough for them to be used in the Championships Grand finals day. They is nothing in Widnes around the ground anyway unlike Warrington which I quite like as I think to location of the ground is very good. The Grand final stopped being at Widnes when they came down and now it looks like it is returning there now they have gone back up. I would love to see the final at Headingly like it was in 2007 that would be good.

Agree about the artificial pitch aspect. Given the make up of the league this year, there seriously needs to be a decent 10-15k stadium built in Yorkshire somewhere.

I reckon some of the RFL's thinking is because it is an artificial pitch it won't be affected by the elements as much as this year's Finals day was. Remember there were three games played on a surface ravaged by the rain which turned the Championship final into a bit of a no contest.

The venue isn't important, the fact its played on a Sunday really stinks.

Still less than 10,000 until the North Stand is 'fixed', isn't it? To be fair they played the 2001 Grand Final at Rochdale when the Hornets made it as far as the Major Semi when they lost at home to Oldham, so it's come close to happening before!

The problem with the artificial pitch is that we don't really know how well it will 'play' after a full season of being in use - even the 3G at Leigh East is only used for training and the occasional match.

Anyway is this a rumour as not seen anything mentioning the 2012 Grand Final location?
