Tony Beevers is the only board member alive from our Wembley days. He worked closely with the old Taverns set up at Thrum Hall.
In the past he also has had connections with Keighley and for the last few years with the Acadamy set up at Featherstone. He joined the Leigh board this week due to his connections with the chairman.
He is the chairman elect for the Halifax RLFC Players Association at our AGM on 5th May. At this present time we have received no other nominations.
I believe with his connections in the game he will be a real asset to our Association, having known Tony for the last 30 plus years
Neil
Before anybody points out my deliberate mistake the other Tony, Gartland is still alive, who was previously on the board from the Brookie time, and a good supporter of the Players Association.
