Yes, that was one of the points that came to my mind along with the only recently dropped idea that male homosexuality was as a result of medical / brain issues. Arguably, this 'proves' those old theories? Also, I wondered why he allegedly felt obliged to give up his job to take up the cliched gay job of hairdresser?

It isn't a case of yes or no so proving or disproving do not come into it, such as the colour example above, there are more than two scenario's so it could be anything.
