I appreciate the sentiment, but I don't see a vacuous 1 line response as bullying; quite the opposite - it strikes me as the standard response of someone who doesn't have their own opinion, but just disagrees with mine. I'm indifferent to it.

Saying 'we can agree' on it doesn't make your opinion any more valid, nor do ad hominem insults ('doddering old hippy'). In fact, these kind of juvenile attack lines are no longer effective, and even less so after they were all used up in the election campaign. Most people are starting to see Corbyn as he is, an old-school but compassionate Bennite leftist, who refuses to get down and dirty even when his opponents lamentably abuse him. If you want to halt the decline of your beloved Tory party, you better start countering Corbyn and Labour with proper facts and proper respectful arguments. Right now you're losing the war of ideology quite badly.

Agreed, he’s 50 years out of date, post all the graphs you want, simple fact is Labour, without fail, screw the country over whenever they get any semblance of power. Life isn’t fair, we’re not all equal, human beings are the only species where some believe that survival of the fittest should be disregarded.

It will be worse than that - I understand that Labour will today use an old parliamentary rule to force the Tories to release the Brexit impact studies they've been desperate to supress; the finance jobs will be the tip of the iceberg.

They can make all the predictions they want - they are simply that a prediction.

How many of the doom predictions that were made following the vote have actually come to pass? Who is to say these predictions have anymore validity?

All they are - are what we see on here all the time - people trying to use bias info. to support their point of view.

Economics is a massively complex area where equally competent experts will have polarised opinions - that's why we should take all these pronouncements with a pinch of salt - because actually nobody has a crystal ball.

I'm still baffled as to why we need to make this huge leap in the dark.

And yet an overwhelming majority of economists believe that Brexit will damage the UK economy, with estimates from between 2 to 9% of GDP; a small group advocating free trade have suggested the opposite, but their model has been exposed as fundamentally flawed.

The only people I can see who aren't polarised are rabid Brexiteers, who don't actually have any expertise; even David Davis has now admitted that the 'deal' he gets is likely to favour the EU, particularly when it comes to 'money and stuff.'

Given the absolute shambles of the negotiations, the exposing of so many lies during the campaign, and the increasing amount of information available to the public and MP's (only after the Government were forced to release the impact studies,) it seems to me that the only reasonable way forward is a 2nd vote on the deal itself; and that's before we mention the dark money scandal surrounding Farage and Aaron Banks that is just starting to emerge.

I expect if the result had gone the other way the leavers would also be clamouring for a second stab at it.

The 4% majority for me was too fine a margin to make such a momentous decision. The referendum shouldn't be binding unless it's a 10% majority for change.

There should definitely be a final vote on the deal - however if that vote is restricted to MPs then I expect it to go through no problem as most in leave constituencies would dare not go against the wishes of their electorate even if they disagreed.

Farage was calling for it on the night of the election, when the exit polls were too close to call and he thought Remain would win - so that has already happened.

I couldn't agree more - a non-binding vote in a binary referendum, where large numbers of stakeholders were disenfranchised and the campaign was based on lies; a super-majority should have been required the first time around, and a second vote when the details of what leaving will actually look like, seems the only choice.

As for the politics of it - I tend to agree; this has now become a career defining issue for politicians of all stripes - they either do what's right for the country, or for themselves and their party, and it's fairly obvious what most will choose.

I can't help but think the remainers have a heck of a lot less backbone than the leavers when it comes to standing up for what they believe in. The leavers in the Conservative Party have agitated for it for at least 40 years, they've endured the political wilderness and then split their own party over it. The remainers just seem to wring their hands but refuse to rock the boat if their job is at risk or the party might lose power.

I agree; I'm a big supporter of Mr Corbyn and agree with most of his policies - but I'm profoundly disappointed that Labour isn't working harder on his original model - stay in, but reform. It will take more than the fundamentally dislikable Chuka Umuna to win the argument, but the party is fearful of losing the momentum they gained at the last GE - particularly as it's starting to look like there could be another one sooner than anyone expected.

Labour are not in power so do not need to work on any particualr model, I mean it could be 5 years before the next General Election so why show your hand now.

The key is to let the Tories fall on their sword, at the moment they are struggling both here and in the EU, if an election is called they Labour go from that point, until then, keep prodding the "jobs frst" angle and let it roll, Labour won't lose any momentum, but the Tories may well.

The main reason inflation has reached 3% is that nigh on everything is more expensive due to the pound losing so much value against the Euro & Dollar - so yes I do.

This is not yet relevant as we're not out, yet.
However, despite the fact that we have record employment (yet falling wages) and roaring inflation (largely brought on by the shrinking value of the Pound), the UK is bumbling along and STILL there is no vision on life outside the EU.

I would have thought that the Government's chicanery in trying to avoid publishing the 58 Brexit impact assessments tells us a lot about their content; if it was good news, they'd be shouting it from the rooftops - instead, Labour has had to use an arcane bit of parliamentary process to get them released, and even then, they will be heavily redacted - to hide the inconvenient truth.

Interest rates are where they were after the vote and upwards movements are indicated to be relatively small over the next 3 years so it would suggest the Brexit impact is anticipated to be minimal

Wage stagnation has being going on in this country since 2008 its not a result of Brexit and perhaps explains why productivity is so sluggish. Inflation at 2% is hardly roaring and most would suggest some inflation is a good thing.
