Not the ideal game for sorting out the defence & re-building confidence. Ok, Fev aren't quite hitting their straps yet, but I still think they'll have too much fire power for our lads to cope with. Please prove me wrong!

That nearly killed me, thought we were going to throw it away at one bit when Fev upped the tempo, but we dug deep and came out strong. Fantastic win boys.

Just to add I hope they are reported for the abuse on Menzie, they gave their club a bad name today. So very wrong.

Was there as 'Neutral' stood with sheffield fans.

Funny how on the Fev forum, in the build up to the game, they were all going on about how we don't have any fans, yet after the game there's not a single comment about our following. Special mention to the Fev fan that wanted to take on the whole of the away end on his own.

Still not quite sure what happened! Was convinced we had lost at 40-44, great spirit to dig in and close the game out; we didn't actually concede any points in the last 17 minutes.

I'd say there were more at Leigh for the playoffs than what went to Featherstone yesterday.

That has to be one of the most bizarre games I've ever been too..

I would of been happy with a bonus point from the game but our 1st half performance and the way we started the second half was excellent.

I did think at 40-44 Featherstone would just carry on and we'd lose by 16-20 points but credit to the team we dug deep and even denied them the bonus win.

Far from it, I'd say (that was actually meant as a back-handed compliment as it was a pleasant surprise to see so many Eagles fans there last night). There were no more than maybe 30-40 at Leigh, albeit understandable for a Thursday night, whereas I thought there were maybe 100+ there last night.

I did the head count and there were at least 3 extras that weren't on the register!

The 3 who weren't on the register would've been me, me mam and our mate Chris (a Huddersfield fan).
We were stood on the side terracing near the Blue Lagoon Bar - would've swapped ends at half time, but me Mam had gone to get some chips and they'd already kicked off by the time she'd got back; so we couldn't be a*sed to move.



Only abuse we had was having Janet Krankie jnr stood at the bottom of the terracing from us. Heard the "You must have come in a Taxi" chant - did you get some other abuse from the family stand in 2nd half?

We've conceded 90 points in 2 games and we're 2nd in the table, with only Hunslet and Swinton having conceded more points than us!

Best way I could sum up the game is: Men of the Match - Brian Rix & Jacques Tati !!

As my Fartowner friend said "Would've loved that to have been the televised game - just to hear the interviews with DP & Tubbs immediately after the game".

Definately the most bizarre game I've ever been to. Had good banter with the Fev fans near us - think we both need to train with the Giants next week to work on our defence before the cup games.

Ah well, onwards & upwards - here's hoping for a grand day out in York next Sunday with a bit more of a one-sided tryfest from the Eagles!

Somebody else said to me that there was some verbal abuse towards the end.

I have to say that, for myself, I came across nothing but courtesy and congratulation, albeit through gritted teeth.

A few Fev fans congratulated us, just one moron decided to give it the big 'I AM' but every club has them.

Can't remember many games like that one (and I've been to a few over the last 33 years). I wish we could play well for the full 80 minutes, we'd be top of $UPERLEAGUE by now. The atmosphere last night was brilliant among our lot and it shows what can happen when we all manage to stand (or sit) together (although I only managed the second half on the scoreboard end). Looking forward to York next week now. Although we can't get complacent, I don't think we'll have too much to worry about, having seen York today at Hunslet.
