| We've played Friday nights before, I don't think there was a great difference between crowd sizes tbh, so if we can get more from sponsers then why not? And in the final few league games last season we had a shocking turn out, and they were sunday games.

| The club makes more money on a Friday night - fact. The difference in crowd side is no different - negligible at best, and as you rightly point out, we make more money from the sponsors.
I actually prefer Friday nights, allows me to have a few beers and head out if I want to and not have to worry about being up on Monday morning.

| At least youve solved your xmas present for your mum,Get her driving lessons On a serious note,You cant please everybody,Whatever day it is,Some people wouldnt be able to go,So if it is the case, which it looks like,We get similar crowds on a sunday and a friday,But obviously get more corporate on a friday,So the biggest income for a game is friday,Hence the decision. For myself im not bothered either way,Nice to finish the working week off and go friday and have a pint (Deuchars of course),Also on a sunday when your at a loose end what to do,Nice to take the family to the game,Obviosuly the Kids ellement on a friday maybe down.Ideally a mixture of friday and sundays would be better.

| As above - some people prefer Fridays, others Sundays and from a crowd point of view not much difference.
Unfortunately you can't please everyone.
Corporate may be more lucrative on a Friday but on the otherhand don't forget the ordinary fans who turned out in force at Darnall club is those dark days who in my perception seemed to be much more important to the club than they are now.
To be honest for me each day has it's pros and cons. Friday evening when the weather is warm is great because you can have a drink after. I don't have a preference myself only that choose a day and time and stick to it unless there are circumstances that prevent it like TV or SUFC saying no.
However for me personally, I'd probably not stay in the Millennium bar on a Frday evening because there are better and cheaper places to be in Sheffield on a Friday evening.

| Good point re: the millennium bar, although you could just have one in there, listen to the speeches then go out. In fact I like the sound of that

| Going for Fridays, imho, means we're setting our cap at Championship mediocrity. I can't see us ever building up the crowds we need to enter Superleague on a Friday night.
And, bearing in mind how many weeks overlap with the soccer/grass-growing season, we've a 50/50 chance that United won't let us play on Friday nights anyway. What we'll be left with is a hotch-potch of Friday and Sunday matches at DVS and t'Lane with even less structure and pattern than we had before.

| Because the crowd building plan on a Sunday afternoon was going brilliantly wasn't it...
The crowds won't be any different this year to last. In fact I bet there's a slight improvement due to the season ticket initiative and the cheap student tickets.

| We rely heavily on away support. Even though you can throw a handkerchief over most of the 2012 clubs in our division, that won't be as good on Friday as it is on Sunday.
And we've never really attacked the crowd-building question. We should have done more two years ago instead of "hanging our hats" simply on moving to t'Lane. I said so at the time.

| Teams like Halifax and Feath do swell the crowd and bring a lot of fans especially on a sunday,You'll be lucky to get more than a 100 followers from the other teams especially on a friday,I think the crowds will go down,Even if it was free admission i dont think crowds would drastically go up,You either like rugby league or you don't,A lot of people in Sheffield don't and arnt even willing to try it,You need a dramatic increase of fans who need to go regulary to get a chance for super league,Your looking at needing a good thousand extra fans,In the real world you'll be lucky to find 100 new fans in one season.

| The trouble with free admission is that you build a following of people who can't/won't pay. Which then alienates the people who do pay.

| I wouldnt let anyone in for free,Was just saying even if it was,it wouldnt guarantee major increase in attendance as they have to be interested in the game. Its a football city and i dont think it will ever change from that.On another instance why do Ice hockey get 5k regular, charge more but Sheffield has also not been renown for ice hockey,Is it because its warm and indoors?

| Anyway, Tim's in charge of crowd building now.
I hope he gets some support because this definitely isn't a one-man job.

| Can't wait for Workington away in the NRC...
Wednesday v United is the same day as Donny away in the NRC and I believe plans are already underway to push ko time back. That day could be absolute carnage.

Why will both of them be happy to amend their kick off time so that they do not clash with the rugby?

From what I'd heard it is the same weekend as Manchester Magic, which is the 26th/27th May.
