With eight players away on international duty, UTC have postponed their next two fixtures.

Marvin Filipo playing for Limoux will be good value for them.
He has played NRL games and is a self motivated trainer who keeps himself fit enough to play at an NRL level.
He has made the NSW cup rep team for the last few years and probably should have played a lot more NRL - he is good enough, just off field stuff and bad luck have prevented him.

at last !!!! about five years too late but at least he's gone

I've heard from a cynical rl journalist that a possible reason may be the preparation for SL in 2015 and that plans were underfoot to recruit a 'big name' to start building a future squad....I reckon it's because the club have finally realised Mr Dumas is an outdated coach with no idea of the modern game !

strangely, the overseas players didn't have a major problem with him and it was the french contingent who undermined him thus creating divisions in the camp which was affecting form etc

Sylvain is an experienced rl man and TO13 is close to his heart so this temporary appointment is positive

Moi aussi. I fully respect what Gilles has accomplished in the game and think he still has something to offer, just not as a head coach. That much was apparent, as you say, four or five years ago.

Problem is John that the LER is drowning in 'elderly' coaching staff, most of the present lot except for Rory at Villeneuve have been in the same job for donkeys years like Gilles and the game is stale.
Like most things in french society, sport is very 'political' and having connections and knowing people even at that local level is important . Going against this trend often creates a mini civil war within the club ...
