Also, since when was he a "backrow forward". He hasn't played second-row for a fair amount of time. I think he would be classed as a stand-off/ball playing loose forward. Carlaw usually starts at 13 anyway and he isn't a loose forward so I think its a good signing. The more quality and ability in a side, the better.

I don't agree. Neither are a decent replacement for Bird or Ryles. As it's not a straight swap, I reckon we just don't waste our cash on Ozzies and pay some of our French players a decent wage.

Frankly I'd rather we'd kept Duport than splash the cash on Mason or Walker.
