The decision to only sin bin your lad for a blatant punch when our lad was on the floor was quite simply a disgrace. If the ref sees the punch, which he obviously did, how then can he only sin bin the lad? Is my understadning of the rules wrong here? If it is i apologise in advance.

Even worse from the ref in the Woolston v Halton game was he wanted £35 for that display! Unbelieveable. We gave him £30 and a 50% off voucher for Specsavers. We have never been penalised like that before and the final try was, quite frankly, a bent call. Even the HFH players said it

On the game, well done to HFH. Played some really nice rugby and moved the ball nicely left and right, a very good and fit team. Had us stretched a few times in the 1st half and we had to scramble across well. Credit to our guys though for their defensive effort. HFH must have had 65% of the ball yet we only conceded the 1 try (discounting the awful last try the ref gave). Our match fitness is coming back slowly, our attack was scratchy at times but we have had 3 different sides out for our last 3 games so we will be rusty there. All in all, I was very happy.

Next week we have Ince away and their 1st team dont have a game so could be a potential banana skin

Haha fair and square you were on first name terms with the referee. We don't intimidate anyone we play to a high standard of rugby and with a different referee we would of convincingly beat use, you were probably the only team intimidated because you tried to wind our players up.

Mr leicester that's a serious accusation do you have any proof. We at widnes st maries pride ourselves on our rugby and our club members, we never and wouldn't threaten any member of opposition and respect all teams that play the game the right way, we do not appreciate being cheated especially when games could be so vital. Luckily were already guaranteed at least a division 1 spot because we dropped out of the NCL so I hope it doesn't affect your promotion bid to much.

So THAT'S why. Don't be too sure, NWC guarantees are tissue thin. We have fallen foul of them in the not-too-distant past.

What division you go in isn't guaranteed pal, we have to vote on it as league members, just because you got thrown out of the NCL doesn't guarantee you Div status in the Nwc's.....

St Maries is renowned for being an intimidating place to go and I can see why younger teams would cave. I was also told I was gonna get my head "caved" in after the game. Our scrum half was threatened by a man in goggles haha!! The thing is, had Maries kept their heads and not had players sin binned they may well have won, unfortunately for them they didn't and we won. The big eared bald fella really needs to grow up too "it's a good job I'm not playing" "back in my day" blah blah blah, stars in bars! I know fir a fact The Maries have great supporters, unfortunately let down by a small minority.
