| He is - it's just "do we need him at the mo"? Maybe one for the future, but I'm not convinced just on what I've seen he brings owt to the team that we already haven't got adequately covered!
Hopefully he'll impress enough soon!

| I'm sure he'll prove his worth. The lad has a good engine. Has not looked out of place against Sl opposition when he's played but not quite ready just yet.

| Based on a hypothesis that if fully fit and available, Daryl would pick from his current 1st team squad.
and based on the limited evidence I have, that in his position we already have quality I don't think Ben Gledhill is able to displace!

Listen mate, you are not in any position to be pontificating on the honours other teams have or will win - now or in the near future!!
We both watch two teams who's successes have and will be very limited. If the licencing crapola doesn't go your way next month you may well find yourself watching the same "bab" down here in the sludge the RFL has forgotten!

Bit harsh and maybe you are too close to Ben to see the fuller picture?
To call the Fev pack bab is out of order to be fair.
We know Bens a good prospect but take a step back and look at the bigger picture, he needs
time to gel with a new team and he is still a young player.

| fraid so Eric. On a day when everyone had a chance to shine - he did ok! An that's as much as he did against woeful opposition.
Not as good as what we have I'm afraid. He's helping us over the injuries and taking some pressure off the established forrads, but I can't see any longevity in his tenure at Fev.
Did you see the Barrow game last week? Did little there when he had chance to make a name for himself.
Fair play to the lad - he's sticking at it. He may shine eventually, but how long do you wait??

| I am not sure which match you were watching. He played better than Tonks, offloaded and defended well. Massive hit also on their biggest player. Perhaps you do not want to see an improvement.

| Hey, I'd love to see him dominate the opposition and be hailed as the greatest fev player of the last 20 years. You asked my opinion - I gave it. You don't like my answer there's little more I can do. Pehaps you only want to see a 'fantastic performance'?
He does put in a good defensive stint and I enjoyed the hit but I expected more from him v really shi_itty oposition. Again, did you see the barra game?
I will get the dvd in the week and particularly watch how he goes. Removed from the live empassioned performance sometimes you see more on dvd.
I remain unconvinced about him at this stage and I honestly believe if Haley n Morro were fit, now Matty Dale is back he wouldn't get in the 17 and would be back at Trinity. Just my thoughts. My opinions etc. If they differ from yours - c'est la vie!

| I thought he played a lot better than RFF is giving him credit for, was always looking to offload at every opportunity, 9/10 that offload came and cant remember an error made and ran in well, i think DP saw that as well by giving him a longer stint out there than of recent weeks
That said though i agree with RFF that he wouldnt be a first choice player if everyone is fit, but is doing more than enough to warrant a place in the squad at this time
He is certainly better than Dave Williams who we had from quins - and he is/was getting in the quins first team

| Not too sure about his technique when driving the ball in. Head too low for a tall man and could end up with a nasty neck injury if not changed.
Think he would be a better player under DP's coaching as opposed to Kear, and think todays Wakey result proves that!!

| he didn't do owt wrong. Against (Very) week opposition he did ok. A defensive stint against that opposition gets you few plaudits - some of the lads at Selby Wasrriors would have stood up against Toulouse forrads!!! Very poor.
He looked to offload - but so did everyone else. He didn't break the line too oft and doesn't dominate like I hoped he would.
At Barra he went down like Monica Lewinski everytime he was tackled and never looked like creating a break or decent offload. - That said, he again stood up well in defence which given Morro and Haley's absence is our main priority.
He's OK. And that's what I have concluded. Just OK! Coming from SL I kind of expected him to be able to step up and deliver what Morro and Haley offer the side. In my opinion, he doesn't do that!
Perhaps you're right Sidnee. An extended stay under DP may well improve his game.

Yes but he doesn't come from SL just a SL club. By that I mean he isn't a SL player, he simply hasn't had the game time for that to really apply. He is a very good Academy prospect who is on the fringes of first team. This means in my opinion he is something between an Academy player and a Championship player. So if you were expecting a SL player you were misled in the extreme. What I do believe is he is probably more advanced than anything you have in your own Academy so that's a bonus.
The biggest problem Ben has is the debut he made against HKR. It was the best I've ever seen at Trinity from a forward in 20 years which made expectations a bit OTT. He will be a goodun, I remember Peacock being on loan with Fev and he did OK but wasn't spectacular but he did kick on

Agree on all the points Vasty. Which is where I've been coming from. It appears that I am suppoised to heap superlatives on the lad and dole out my appreciation that he's the best thing we have!! - which I can't do.
The Peacock analogy is a goodone. Ben is ok! He may well turn out to be something much much better - but for the mo he's a good prospect and that's it.
I'll stick to my premise that "If we had a fully fit side he wouldn't get in the 17 at this stage with the squad we have"!!! That's not saying he's sheeeite - he isn't. He's ok for nowt. But nowt more than that yet!

| Yep he had a great game.
It was a very clinical performance from Fev, with a bunch of young English
lads playing as a complete team.
Very impressed with them
