I think this would be a real coup. He certainly knows how to get some go forward into a team and the benefits to the younger players can't be measured in pounds and pence. As long he remains committed and isn't aiming for a couple of easy years before retirement then I'd like to see this happen, the discipline thing is a non-issue for me, I think it's exaggerated somewhat by reputation and passion is at a premium these days so bring it on.

Agree 100%, just as Scot Murrell has done at Halifax? but with our coach & young squad it could be a good fit for him & our club promotion or not this year.

One of those players who you dislike playing against you,but would love if he was in your teams colours.Has been a match winner for such a long time,when his pace dipped he became better with ball in hand and positioning.Class player and we would be lucky to sign him imo

The BBC's site suggests that Maguire joining you is subject to you gaining promotion.

Reminds me of when Hull signed Sean Long, Hull got 22 games out of long before his body packed up. How many do you reckon Maquire will play?

There's a element of risk, there always is. But 'sure things only' isn't an option.

A lot of our gambles blew up badly in out later SL years, but we have to keep rolling the dice, or we'd have no players eventually.

Mags is an excellent player and after 17 years it will be a shame to see him go but I wish him all the best.

Just hope you have a back up for him and not putting all your eggs into one basket, as you won't get a full season out of him...he will be an excellent role model to have on the pitch for your younger players to look upto tho.

This signing totally dismays me , i don't usually come here but JP's five year plan .More like has been rhino's pension plan!.Get some young guns playing .RRTR.

We do have a few good young guns coming through the ranks, playing alongside a top class player such as McGuire will benefit them enormously in my opinion.
