I've long since said Aston would be a good super league coach. Would take no nonsense either, the way sandercock bigged up Cas last night was nauseating. Why can't he come out and say we were terrible and it won't happen again!

To be honest I don't think Aston would leave Sheffield. Its been his baby for so long I couldn't see him giving it up to move elsewhere.

Cas took their chances well when near the Rovers line, Rovers didn't have a clue when near theirs despite a massive advantage in Field Position during the entire match.

The fact the Cas scored five tries and had another ruled out by the VR out of only 7 or 8 possessions near the Rovers live speaks volumes about Rovers defence last night.

Once the half back pairing have settled in with that sort of possession, someone in in for a hiding, though I doubt it will be in the next couple of weeks when Rovers will be on the end of some real thrashings IMO.

I'm just looking forward to the Bradford game the way it's going we will be playing there under 19s surely our backs can carve them open

The way I look at disallowed tries is, would the opposition still have scored if it was legal? For example a try disallowed for a forward pass is worrying because your defence has been breached regardless of whether the pass was legal or not. But if it's something like a double movement then you haven't really been broken down, they've just cheated.

Those two last night would have still be scored if Clarke had stayed onside and if Dorn ( I think?) had caught the ball outside of the dummy runner. Got to be a concern.

I know we did and your trying to make it sound even worse I have this thing about disallowed tries there not tries so we conceded five tries that's it not five tries and if that would happened it would have have been eight tries or if he hadn't dropped the ball it would have been more so in the end we were well beaten played poorly that's it

Good way to look at it. I presume that you didn't feel aggrieved at ganson's VR decision last year at MM? I do think that disallowed tries are an indication of the overall flow of a game and one team's dominance though

I agree to a certain extent you could go on forever if Eden could pass cockayne would have scored and as for the magic weekend game it just equaled out what happened the year before to me both key decisions were terrible

the thing with disallowed tries is that if its not a sky game those same disallowed tries would probably stand. so if we hadn't have been embarrassed on Sky we'd probably maybe definitely have been embarrassed even more. 48 - 10

In 3 weeks or so it will be 40 years since I watched my 1st Rovers game. I've seen too much rubbish over that time to start jumping on any bandwagon, but I've rarely felt as disappointed as I did on Friday.

I felt worse after Friday nights performance than I did after the thumping Wigan gave us at home last season. In the past it has been easy to question the players commitment, but in this instance the effort appeared to be there but they looked lost in attack and defence. It could be said that stuff simply wasn't coming off but it was worse than that, you could read our plays before they happened and that to me is down to the coach and or the 6 & 7. Somewhere along the line there is a lack of leadership, i'm just not sure if that is from the coach or whether the players in key positions don't have the conviction to dictate play on the pitch

i know you lot know more about rovers than me so i acknowledge your views are based on what your seeing every week but was'nt everyone saying these things last year and then he turned it around and everyone ( well most ) was happy hudge had kept faith in him.i personally thought you had made some really solid signings this year,especailly poore who i was hoping we would go for.only 3 games in so alot can change really quick.as it has shown at wire with losing briers and to some extent catalan been without dureau that losing dobson was always going to be the differance between winning and losing 80/90% of games
