Who cares what a few people on a social networking site say? I can absolutely guarantee that no one will stop following the game because a (video) referee made a poor call

Actually we [ican[/i see past it. Some of us are just beyond caring.

The officiating of RL in the UK is appalling and has been for the entire length of time I've been watching the game. That's around a quarter of a century. I've lost count of the number of times I've said that it would kill the game in the end. So far I've been wrong. Even more relevantly, if you check my posts when Ganson was announced as the new boss I was scathing in my criticism and predicted that things would go downhill.

But this decision is no worse than many other decisions Ganson has made over the years. Maybe the reason why some of us are not as exercised about it as you are is that we've seen it all before over many, many years. Cummins came out with some utter rubbish during his tenure after all.

Anyway - I read that the RFL are due to make a statement soon. If it includes the reasoning behind the decision then maybe we can have an informed discussion.

I was willing to give Ganson the benefit of the doubt, maybe he saw something we did not, but if this is true then it is unforgivable and once again makes our game a laughing stock to make such a basic error, the VR has as much time as needed to make his decision.

Not only on this occasion but in general I think that there is a fundamental flaw in the VR system as it is now in that it is still down to a single individual to judge the incident and if he makes an error then there is no one to correct it. Other sports that use judges use a panel, maybe we could have 3 VR's with a simple majority to decide an incident.

Apparently Jon Sharp has said that it was 'clearly a mistake'.

That should make his working relationship with Ganson interesting. How does he discipline the guy who shares responsibility for leading the officials with him?

Like us last year, you put yourself in the position to have that decision given against you. Despite the pleas of better team lost, even without that shocking decision it would have been a draw and quite fair one at that.

Fact is we were very poor today, ŵe put so much ball down in the first half you should have been able to put many more points on us. We didn't get it together for the entire game. Hull as always like been the underdogs like against Warrington, we don't like been favourites as today proves, we panic and loose our flow.

Hull fans have got quite the claim for karma on this one. You lost, we won. Get over it.

RFL STATEMENT: VIDEO REFEREE DECISION AT MAGIC WEEEKEND

The RFL have admitted that video referee Steve Ganson made an incorrect decision in awarding a try to Chris Green of Hull FC in the closing stages Super League fixture against Hull Kingston Rovers at the Etihad Stadium today.

RFL Head of Match Officials Jon Sharp said: “We have reviewed the decision and it is clear that Steve made the wrong call.

“Honesty and accountability are important to the Match Officials Department and we can only apologise for the error.

“Steve has been in contact with Hull Kingston Rovers and offered his apologies: he is one of the sport’s most experienced officials and deeply regrets having got it wrong.

“As with all fixtures, we will conduct a full review of the performance of our match officials following Magic Weekend and will take what steps we can to ensure that mistakes like this do not happen again.”

You've had al that can be done, an apology. Hull won the game, that's sport, its imperfect. Ever had a game were there hasn't been some decision or sonething or other other that is questionable?

well steve thanks for admitting you got it wrong, that makes me feel a hell of a lot better, and for the record about last season forward pass steve ganson did not get it wrong he awarded the try after consulting the touch judges he had no choice to award the try. today was very shambolic and unjust, and the yeaman try was a dubious one to say the least. but i am very proud of the team hull kr. and wish all our injured players a speedy recovery

One of the flagship events in rugby league and marred by an appalling decision for all to see,no wonder our sport is judged as a joke beyond the m62 corridor.I feel a lot fooking better for the rfl saying sorry.If it was normal speed I could accept,but one look at the video replay and it was clearly offside, how could he not see he was offside,what was he looking at?

He was looking at the wrong player, apparently. My guess would be Lynch who was stood next to him but level with the kicker.

What was Ganson looking at? His fecking betting slip probably.
