The countdown is set to be postponed quite a bit longer according to one of the players involved in the betting scam. He might be innocent but Big Willie cant go anywhere or play for anyone until the Police have finished investigating apparently.

That sounds unlikely, frankly. Are other players going to be prevented from playing by this ongoing investigation? Charges would have to be brought, at very least, by either the police or NRL for a player to be suspended. And that'd make the press.
I suppose it might feasibly put a visa-application on hold, which would be pretty serious. Or maybe his ex-team-mate is on a wind-up.

The existence of a betting scam remains unproven, so everybody be extra careful.

I didnt say he couldn't play. Police enquiries usually insist that anyone under questioning is stopped from leaving the Country. However if he is in Tonga this may disprove that theory, unless they were conditions that were stated?

I am speculating on something an ex Rovers player involved in the betting thing is telling people in Aussie, not giving fact here.

I'm not worried at all. Hudgell said on the radio a couple of weeks ago that all the due diligence around the signing had been completed and it's pretty much a formality, and that is pretty much the consensus on here, even if the dates of his arrival have shifted by the odd month month or so. Just a bit of added festive drama, this 14 week delay. Nothing to see here.
