I would imagine Rovers are still in the market for a new hooker however the fact that Hodgson was moved to the back row at Hull probably swayed his decision more then guarenteed 1st team rugby.

The one thing Rovers seem to have guarenteed Josh is the hooking role be it reserve level or 1st team and you cant blame the kid for wanting to play in his favoured position.

I value performance and effort as well as getting the 2 points. Celtic have put in some very good performances. On paper i dont think Hull FC are one of the worst teams and lots of things have contributed to where we are in the league. But im pretty sure that most SL teams would take a large percentage of our players should they become available. We've been poor because of poor coaching, simple as that. (obviously a reasonable debate will go out of the window here as you accuse me of FC bias etc)

Hull now only have 2 recognised hookers and one of them is very injury prone.

Rovers have Fisher, Cockayne and Murrell who i suspect will all play there in front of Josh to begin with.

Well if the rumours are true youre talking to Paul King and Motu Tony to name but 2 on top of signing Hodgson and Haynes last season and you took Scott Wheeldon etc etc.

The only player we havent released was Cooke. (and we've been poor for 3 seasons now)

If the lad can impress in the reserves and friendlies he has every chance of getting the hooking role at Rovers, he is young, but there are lots of examples of young lads coming good in SL. FWIW, I don't think he will be much behind Fisher as I don't think he is that good at SL, Fitzy was fast becoming a better hooker.

Not sure on Cockayne but Murrell is not a hooker, he's by far the best 13 we have. Unless we sign a specialist 13 I can't see what we would get by moving one of our most consistant players..

Has been touted as a future hooker by none other than Morgan and i think he'll end up playing there in all honesty.

Could see him shift next seasson, especially if Cook makes a go of the 2nd row, perhaps Galea to loose man.

Pretty much the way i see things.

Murrell played hooker at the KC earlier in the season and was pretty good if memory serves me. Also worth noting that Scott played quite a lot of his Leeds acadamy days at hooker.

Think you'll find Hodgson wasn't being released / freed up /dumped / like Tommy Lee has been. Rovers were prepared to make Hodgson a better offer. Bit of a difference.
