and on that subject Saints had 16 English players ( yes that does include Fasavalu) in their 17 last night and some of those young lads really did play like men , Makali Aizue really smashed young Andrew Dixon with a tremendous drive - perfectly legitimate hit - but after a few seconds the kid got up got back in the line and made the next tackle- that lad is 19 today - there is hope for the future

Actually, you're wrong there mate. If you'd have read our boards after the Warrington match, which as you may remember we won, we complained just as loudly about Smith then. That is because he is cr@p and shouldn't be allowed to ref SL matches. But while we are whinging about him, we're also whinging about our own players, some of whom - the experienced ones no less - played like they were fresh out of the academy side rather than with years behind them. Like Gidley making a pass to Gardner on the tryline that only a 90ft giant could have caught or Jammer creating a beautiful penalty for you guys by dropping the ball at a crucial moment. Some of those mistakes were forced by your players, some were just our own invention.

You will also see on our boards that we recognise Hull KR outplayed us last night and deserved the win. And that try from the scrum just has to be the best of the season yet IMO. It was sheer genius.

Thought they played us last week

As Justin has said, we need to back this up by beating Wakey next week; there's no point in pulling off shock victories then losing games that you should win. This is not a slur on Wakey who played brilliantly although against a Warrington side that defended like a team of under 8's. On wards and up ward Rovers.

Credit where its due an' all that kr. Next week at Craven Park when we take you on, there's gonna be more fireworks than Guy Fawkes could ever have imagined.

Season on season improvement will see us as Play Off contenders and whilst we usually beat that awful team across the city we have bigger ambitions this season.
