I think it is something to do with putting decking in your garden.

Someone after the Salford game did it, he laid full length along one of the crush barriers (much the same as Tomkins position) and his mate took a piccy....at least i assume that's what he was doing.

I'm definitely not up for that then, my neighbours are for ever having to power wash and then re stain theirs. Good old stone flag patio for me, needs re pointing but I'm bound to knack that up so I've told Ms. pmh it looks more "natural" as it is.

It has been around for years, a lot of the forces have been doing it around the world during their time off and numerous websites to post pictures of this. It has more recently swept accross Australia by the looks of it, the more dangerous the planking is done the better the response they get!

There are pictures online of people doing it on top of chimney stacks and steel girders during high rise building constructions!

I guess it depends on your sense of humour if you find it at all amusing but thousands do and as the police rightly state more deaths will come from it because everyone wants to out do each other!

There are some pretty amusing planking pics on the net, still prefer extreme ironing myself.

Sorry, but I just don't get it, even less the hysteria that has grown around it. Is it more or less dangerous than say climbing a tree? or riding a bike down a steep hill on Westwood?

In some cases probably yes mate, a lad died from it recently.



Read the article in the Rag, fully understandable what our member of staff said (basically Justin would be pretty peed off if a player injures himself doing it). For that reason I think Jake Webster in particular is wrongly taking a huge risk engaging in this craze.

I imagine that dozens of kids have been killed by falling out of a tree and probably hundreds in bike accidents. Planking per se is not dangerous it is simply the location, for example on a balcony of a high rise building, but the same could be said for sitting on the balcony of a high rise building.

I can safely say that I would not have had any concerns if my children had been "planking".

It's a stupid thing to do, not because it's dangerous but because it's stupid.
