Westerman Vs [uClint Newton[/u (imo Westerman will be a great player for FC but Newts size should keep him quiet - will be a very good contest)
Tickle Vs [uBen Galea[/u (brilliant rugby brain and cant see Tickle doing anything that Benny G cant handle)
[uFitzgibbon[/u Vs Scott Murrell (Complete leader, great player, against a better then average player who punches well above his weight - will be a good contest hopefully)
Moa Vs Scott Wheeldon (Again each to there own, Moa wouldnt suit HKR style of play but may make more impact off bench)
Cunningham Vs [uJosh Hodgson[/u (Not seen Cunningham but doesnt have the big game experience, does he?)
Washbrook Vs [uLiam Watts[/u (Future GB and should hammer the yards in coming off the bench against a tiring defence)
Lyne Vs [uBen Cockayne[/u (Better utility options if injuries play a part, more experienced, just needs a cool head - Lyne will be one to watch this season mind.)'" I do rate Clinton and Watts but IMO Vella isn't the player he used to be. |

I struggle to see how Rhys Lovegrove lets us down to be honest.
In terms of the relative squad strengths i dont think there is a great deal between either sides starting 13 and there are several Hull players who would walk into the Rovers side. Our big advantage over Hull this season comes in our squad depth and strength in my opinion. |

He didnt let you down but Moa would bring something to your team that you dont have at prop, a big impact prop. |

The main difference between hull and rovers is your half backs and how long you keep them on the field throught the season, Horne has been none existant for the last couple of years same with longy. We spent all year without them playing together, where as Dobson seems to be iron man all season and you will get a good partnership with Green and Dobbo. |

Morgan seems to have been very clever with his pre-season games, using this last one as a proper run out albeit not at the same SL standard tempo.
A derby usually throws up a dire affair and with this one being the first game of the season I do not see it being much different. Rovers will no doubt have the better halves running the show and I honestly cannot see Hull being strong enough over 80 minutes at this early stage of the season.
Looking at Hull's pack they have some very good players in there but other than Fitzgibbon and O'Meley I think our pack wins on top trumps! Vella, Clinton, Newton and Galea are obviously the ones that stand out but even Murrell, Watts and Fisher have impressed me this off season and I think they will be just too strong down the middle.
Not to be too complacent though it could be a tough game as [size=150=#FF0000both teams will no doubt want to get off on a losing run.[/size Likewise the pitch will be heavily cut up after 6 previous games along with the slippery surface due to the roof being closed all weekend. These things could be a leveller and as I say make this into yet another dire derby!'"
