Fox was 22 before he made his Super League debut.
Amor was 23 when he signed for Leeds from Whitehaven, and didn't become a regular SL player until he was 24.
Dobson made his debut age 20 as an unknown with no first grade experience, admittedly younger than the others but he wasn't an established player at any club until he was 22.
Kirmond signed for Huddersfield age 22 and didn't make his first team debut until he was almost 23.
Agreed, but TBH I'm not sure what caliber of replacement you're expecting at this stage or why you would write off a player that you've literally never seen. I'm sure if it was some no-name Aussie then there wouldn't be many complaints.

Plus I probably would prefer a no name Aussie, who will likely have had a better training and education into the game.

So you'd rather sign a player that has been proven to be not good enough based solely on his place of birth than one who has never been given a chance, just because you don't like where he's from or the league he's been playing in. Great mentality.

This kid seems to have had plenty of clubs, is that not a sign of not been able to play at the highest level come 24? I don't care where our players are born, if they ain't good enough I do care! I'm failing to see any positives what so ever if this kid is going to be first choice, that's unless you can point some out to me?

It just seems strange to immediately write off a player that you've never seen play and know literally nothing about.

Blake green was playing 2nd grade in Australia this guy is playing for a poor French team anybody that is trying to sugar coat this signing are totally blinkered we have lost our best player and with £100.000 transfer fee for him the club go out and get this cheap gamble

Maybe there's better ways to spend that money. It doesn't have to be ring-fenced for a direct replacement. Even if cash were burning a hole in the club's pocket, if the cupboard is bare you spend elsewhere.
We're all a bit concerned on the club trying to fill so many pivotal positions, but the assumption in some quarters that somebody like Lunt would be available for purchase and eager to join us has maybe set a few up for disappointment.

There's a couple of weeks to go before pre-season starts but there is also an important deadline coming up - 20 Oct re buying memberships on the never-never - which might see a media frenzy of announcements, although Rovers are often inept when it comes to this side of things.

There's a current of disappointment on this thread re the signing of an unknown French 9, but no concern over having Keal Carlile as a 9. IMO Keal was given ample opportunity to make the 9 jersey his for next season but he failed to maintain tempo and momentum in a series of mundane performances during his stints which for me is a real concern.

I read the article in the HDM about how he will bring more to the table if he gets the 9 jersey, but I fail to see what this 'extra' will be. I honestlty cannot think of one area where he excels in, or one moment of magic one might expect from a 9. He had the opportunity last season and for me didn't reach the standard, plus he was one of those players grouped in Chesters 'last chance saloon'.

In stark contrast, when Robbo was given the opportunity he made darting runs from acting half and kept the tempo going; he looked a real prospect. Sadly the same cannot be said about Keal.

When N.H. appeared on Radio Humberside Talk sport he did not refer to what position the player was. When asked about paying a transfer fee his reply was something along the lines of “we are talking to a player today and if we sign him I would imagine we will have to pay a fee". No mention of a hooker.
