Did he, everytime I saw him he looked average.
For me he isnt big enough to make a top class prop, think he would be Ok as a backup.
Ewan Dowes was average last year for Hull and played the same ammount of games but has far better stats.

I think you need to sign two props next year to challenge for a trophy. One should be an impact prop to replace Aizue.
At a push sign a great prop and use Watts and Wheeldon as the 4th prop.
I suspect Morgan knows this and has targets lined up.
He seems to do pretty well with his overseas recruitment. |

Also Matt Cook is a backrow or centre dont think he has ever played prop.
He clearly doesnt know what he is talking about, I would ignore it if I was you. |

Wheeldon is one of those props that runs hard and wears his heart on his sleeve which endears him to a lot of fans. I was saying when he was at FC in his early days that he could play for GB and how good he was. I was disappointed also when we didnt keep him. At the same time my Rovers friends were calling him average. It would appear we have changed our opinions as fans becuase he has moved clubs. Funny that |

Was clearly rubbish and need of inspiration whilst at FC. Luckily for Scott he landed on his feet at club with a superior coaching and back room team and is now a fabulous young prop. |

I couldn't disagree more. He's been our most consistent prop this year and has often put some of our more senior players to shame with his performances. There's room for improvement, as with all players, but time is on his side and I can see him being a really important player for us in the coming years. |

I have seen enough of Wheeldon over the last few seasons (including this one) and although he is still young and could improve, he just isn't big enough or good enough to be any more than an average SL forward.
To be fair, comparing him to your other props isn't really a good guide because front row is probably the weakest area of your squad. That isn't a dig of any kind because you have some obvious stand-out players in your squad but, Vella apart, your front row is quite average. |
