| From a poor source, I've heard Terry Campese is a done deal. If we get 20 games from him I'd be pleased

The HDM seemed impressed with the potential signing of Campese back in June:
'...former Test half-back Terry Campese.'
'The 29-year-old former Australia and State of Origin player is one of a number of high-profile targets...'
'...the half-back remains a pivotal figure in the NRL and would be a major coup for the Black and Whites...'
'A regular presence for the Raiders since… 2008, Campese is club captain and the major influence on their team'
www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Hull-FC- ... story.html
My entries for flip-flop bingo, if he signs for us:
'Now the wrong side of 30'
'Struggled for form after a series of lengthy injury absences'
'Although his best years may now be behind him...'

I reckon if you get him , a good signing but risky. Thats what most FC fans that have a brain thought when we were linked. Could be brilliant. Just you never know. Lets face it, there are not many quality 7's available, I would take a risk personally.

Indeed. Campese would already be a Hull FC player for the next 3 years if Canberra had been willing to release him a few short months ago.
Instead you have Sneyd & Pryce who looked better signings when you made them than they do now. Fair comment?
Campese was world class up until 4 years ago when injuries struck he then had 2 years out of the game recovering and then another 2 back on the pitch but looking somewhat less than the player he previously was.
Can he get back to the world class player of 4 years ago? Doubtful it has to be admitted.
But as you say there are few halves of quality available and certainly none at all in the class of a top form Campese. Sneyd is looking like a flash in the pan and a 33 year old Leon Pryce is a lazy deteriorating has been with an off field history of quite sickening violence.
TBH I would preferably look elsewhere than Campese but most of the alternatives are inadequates like Keating and Sneyd or undesirables like Pryce.

| Bit harsh there bob, sneyd has the potential and age to be a very good player, benefit of the doubt at the end of this year as he may have been distracted. Pryce I agree tho.
Campese looks too big a riskto me.

Twattingly knackerjee!
This thread is about Renaissance sculpture.
How are we ever going to raise the standard of this board with such banality?

Yeah, we all know your agenda.
You're basically looking to bad mouth Seurat and his invention of chromoluminarism.
Understandable.

| I think a change of club and a change of country would be a great thing for Campo.
He has been a one club man right from the juniors.
He played his junior football on Campese Oval, named after his uncle.
Canberra has been a team on the decline and mired in infighting and political games for his whole career, and Campo has often been in the middle of that.
My feeling is that if he went somewhere else and could just concentrate on playing football he will get back to his best.
At the moment he is the highest paid player at his club and is being ostracised and forced to play and train with reserve grade.

Speaking Truthfully. Sneyd - 100k seems daft to me, potentially a one season or half season wonder. Spoke to a couple of players and they are doubtful of his ability. That said, he clearly has some ability and so we will get behind him and see.
Pryce - personally I agree with you I would never have signed him in a million years. I will support him but have never liked the man.
