The rumours of Mickey Paea signing have cheered me up no end. Never seen him play, didn't even know he existed until today and just because they're brothers doesn't mean they're similar players - but I don't care. He looks the part in his picture on Wikipedia and that is how I judge NRL players.

Good way to judge that. Although I think a far more reliable barometer is Google images.

Any pictures of barnstorming runs? Check.
Pushing someone in the face? Check.
Bench pressing a hefty weight? Check.

Get them signed up.

Bulldog fans are spewing at the thought of Paea being allowed to leave.

Seems they rate him very highly indeed.

Realistically, he would seem as good a signing as any club could make from the NRL in the current climate.

Apparently in a strength test that they carried out between the players at the club, he was the overall strongest, also described as a devastating runner on his day.

Exactly what we need.

So assuming we have signed:

Taulapapa
Hodgson
O'Hara
Paea
Withers
Horne

That still leaves us in need of a quality full back imo (assuming Clinton and Newton are staying.)

We could go...

1. Taulapapa / Sheriff
2. Webster / Latus
3. Horne / Salter
4. Welham / Hall
5. Hodgson / Johnson

Not saying we will - but looking at the ooc SL wingers and our growing strength in the pack, Webster on the wing and Horne in the centres makes sense to me.

I think the weekend showed us that Hall may be considered more as a wing option before Webster.

I don't think they'll let us play with ten backs.

Seen him play 7/8 times since his arrival. On his day he can cause problems with his pace and is reasonably safe under a high ball. Seen him have a few shockers as well, where his attitude can be questioned.

He is also coming back from major surgery at the end of last season, so it is a risk for Rovers, but he may be a low cost risk.

Think Paea will turn out to be a great signing for you. Only seen him once or twice but looks a handful. Taulapapa however is bizarre at best. Sheffields worst import ability wise, and seems to combine this with a poor attitude. Surely QT would have been a much wiser signing?

I would agree on that, i certainly dont see Hall as a better centre than Webster who in my opinion has been back to his best this season, Hall did do pretty well on the wing in the previous game against St Helens but i will need to see more of the same from him before im able to make a fair and balanced judgment.
