If that is true then the builders I talked too were bang on the money Unfortunatly.
But I have to ask where the official story about this comes from.

| Quote ="Larry Billey"Some of us where at the shareholders meeting when it was rail-roaded through...a fait accompli if ever there was one...and it was 1988 and i was in my early 20,s so not exactly "as old as the houses"..
Its true many speak highly of Colin and he is very much a "gent" , however that decision set the club back incalculably...and should never be "rewarded"...
And the truth of the matter is that while Colin did have a little success as coach back in the 60's he took over Rovers chairmanship when we were already a top club with everything on a plate for him, he basked in the glory of the 80's great team and then pretty much oversaw the destruction of everything that had been built up...and we are still struggling because of his misguided, some say self interested, decisions...
But i suppose because hes a "great bloke" we can just write off 20 years as one of those things, forget about the subsequent millions of pounds it has cost the club (and individuals) and yeah lets name a stand after him...why not?'"
Larry you post a lot of stuff that is way OTT but in this instance I have to agree.
No matter how you dress it up, the bottom line is that Colin Hutton was the Chairman of the club (and therefore ultimately responsible) at the time when some catastrophic decisions where made which in my opinion resulted in 20 years of decay playing in a stadium which set us back in a really way.
It's quite possible that Colin Hutton is sorry for the club and regrets some of the decisions he made at that time but the reality is, is that we're still paying the price for those decisions.

I'm fine about it.
Stuff is happening and I can't belive building would have started if there were any chance of it not coming off.

| Does the stand have to be completed for the next derby game to be at CP?
What is the timescale for the decision to be made, you would imagine it would have to be soon, if they want to switch to the KC?

The stand is a 52 week build no chance for the derby.

Cheers Easty.
Think I have mis-understood a few things.
If the derby is at CP, where will the Hull fans go?

| No fan, no matter what team they support should have to pay more than a tenner to watch from the south stand IMO.

I agree, but it's Hull FC so it doesn't matter.

| Bit out touch with your ground developments, so,
Why was the first game switched?
I am back for the derby and it will be first live derby in three years, but really not keen on the south stand after my last visit there.
What is the capcity at CP currently?

I'd be slightly surprised if it isn't switched to the KC. Though it's too soon to have that argument over!

Moving the game to the KC would deffo be a money spinner now after saturdays result. Hull will be gunning for revenge after the perceived injustice of saturdays loss. Their fans will turn up in numbers for sure. In terms of giving ourselves the best chance of a victory we are probably better off keeping the game at MS3 Craven Park.

Also after Saints, 4 of 5 of their games prior to the derby are away so a few more might come along. I agree we'd have a better chance at MS3CP, but if it is a couple points on the handicap against tens of thousands of pounds that might help us maintain/improve the squad, I'd take the long view - and buy a ticket.
edit - I've just started the argument over, haven't I? Massive gormcloptitude.

| Quote It could be a geotextile membrane given they appear to be putting hardcore/6F2 fill over the top of it. In layman's terms it is 'reinforcement' for the ground to improve the ground bearing pressure for a ground-bearing floor slab or possibly to improve the ground bearing for the piling rig, piling mat if the ground is really poor. You mentioned they were piling for the founds, so depending on the state of the ground it could be for either.'"

| I reckon that by the end of this thread I'll have learnt enough about building stands that I'll be able to make a fair fist of doing the South end.
