It's a result that puts the confidence back in and games like that go a long way in deciding what's going to happen... it's strange but there's always drama like last night's game very late on for a team which is struggling which proves to be a turning point.

Guthrie might not be ready for Saturday which is a big blow. Likely to be a Smith-Geremi central midfield. Butt is back too unfortunately, but with a bit of luck he'll break down in the warm up.

This is what I don't understand, why should he have been banned for longer? What Marney did against Blackburn was far worse but I haven't seen that mentioned. Please point out where I've defended Guthrie too. I said what he did was stupid. However, it wasn't as bad as it was made out. fagend's seperate assaults (that's how you've described it) at the KC and SJP should have been dealt with a hefty fine and ban, as I'm sure you'll agree. That's a sweeping statement too, saying "Everyone who has seen that tackle agrees except for blinkered Geordies such as yourself". Strange, because when the incident happened there was a big discussion about it on the Other Sports forum where the vast majority agreed it was a three game ban and no more. Carrying on spouting to suit your agenda though.
