If he (or anyone else) releases a book they'd do well to bear in mind the time limit for bringing a libel action is 12 months from the date of publication.

I'd just stay away from the libel full stop.

For these purposes "publication" means enters the public domain or becomes public knowledge.

I don't suppose "the truth" (whatever it is) will ever come out. Probably best to forget about it and all move on. For different reasons neither Cooke nor Hull FC come out of the situation with any credit.

As an outsider looking in for me when he left Hull FC his career went downwards.
Not having a go at you guys but when he was ay HKR he was not the same player.

Aye, but Hull KR went upwards, which is all that matters ultimately. He deserves some of the credit for that and while he never gave us consistently brilliant displays, there were a good handful of very memorable moments. People ask why couldn't play every week like he did against Hull and it is a very good point, but if he was going to turn it on against just one team, you'd choose them. If he'd only done it against Hudds or Cas - well 2 points is 2 points, but the silver lining would have been a good bit thinner.


Even on the downswing, he was rarely poor for HKR - damning with faint praise there perhaps and poor [ivalue[/i is another issue.

Did anyone ever believe that Rule/Hull SL would ever bring any action against Cook because I for one don't. The only thing in Rule's drawer would be his sandwiches!

i can' believe no one has took a chance on giving him a contract for next year. even an aledged trouble causer like cookie would be worth a punt for most nl teams, and after all this i reckon even cookie might e willing to take vastly reduced terms just to stay in the game etc

Either Paul Cooke is refusing contracts because they are too small in figures or nobody is risking a player who has not stood out since his match winning display in Cardiff 2005. Yes the odd game here and there when he showed signs of being back to his top displays but then crash straight back to just another player on the park.

I'd say the more time goes on if Bradford do not get Leon Pryce back for next year they may give him a 1 year deal and then Pryce can go there on a free. If Cooke doesn't get in at a SL club then he might as well try taking up a player/coach role in a lower league, he didnt do such a bad job with Easts so maybe a club in Championship 1 would be interested in such a quality addition?

Or perhaps Cooke has put any contract talks on hold after an event in his life has put rugby on the back-burner.
