One thing though, our lack of composure and trying to build things and setting a platform before attacking the right side was poor. We went that way to often and early for it to stretch there defence.

a lot of you were crapping before the game, but yet telling us for a couple of years how good you are and how poor we are, discipline and foul play is part of the game, hardly your star player who left the field early,a good job for you it was rovers today otherwise another loss

After what had gone before in 2016, I was glumly despondent but far from disbelieving at the end of the MPG.

Today was nowhere near as bad, in terms of disappointment or consequence. The dismissal gave us a chance, but it’s not like I suddenly switched from worried to confident. More worried, to slight less and differently worried.

At least it was eventful, I guess!

The previous 2 seasons we finished in the top 4. At present we're in 6th. The only bad result we've had is losing to Salford. Getting beat away to Wigan (who were also away!), Cas and Leeds is nothing to complain about. Definitely not enough to say we are in decline.

just watched the highlights on kr tv, and never noticed at the game how bad the decision to award the sharks first try was ,scored by the smurf , shocking decision , quinlan hits paeas arm trying to stop him grounding the ball and flies out loose carry or what. even paea shakes his head , and the obstruction was as bad as the sharks suffered at leeds ,shocking descisions continue in this and every game , the what goes round comes round bit wears thin when it costs teams points replies to -- sourgrapes.co.uk

Just watched it. Talanoa receives a blatant forward pass..ref gives it, Peae loses it, Houghton follows the drop..VR gives it, Quinlan scores..VR disallows it due to "apparant"obstruction that really never was, Shaw touches down..ref disallows it for a forward pass..funny how Talanoas wasn't forward...No wonder we get p****d off!

The obstruction rule is just rubbish. For what it's worth, I would have given Quinlan's try. He runs through a different hole to where Lane was defending.
BUT, it's not the video ref, it's the rule that is the problem. At the time Quinlan receives the ball, Blair makes contact with Lane, and this happens directly in the path between Lane and Quinlan. By the rules of the game, this is obstruction.
I do think it was a harsh decision but by the rules of the game it was the correct one. The obstruction rule is just rubbish (As we found out against Leeds a few weeks ago but I bet no Rovers fans complained about that).

Not watched it back yet but thought 2 or 3 of there tries were dubious and couldn't see much wrong with our 2 disallowed scores?But in reality if you can't beat 12 it's irrelevant. I didn't want to see Blair in the half's but it looks the right call now? Marsh can cover half FB and at a push centre but excels in none of those.Lee was shocking.Salters misses on Tumorvave were the pivotal moments.How did they find space out wide with a man down? Defence today was shocking. They controlled the pace of the game each half getting long breaks regularly by just f@cking about. Fair play its what you should do but the officials should stop the more blatant time wasting. The game today was run by the video ref which was shocking. The official was a joke for both teams.
Marsh was an abomination who hid. Lee is what we ecpected....sh@te. Shocking last play options, poor kicking and abominable defending lost us the game. Well done to the 12 that won it.

Yeah agreed. As it stands it's just a huge cop out for a defending team. If they move towards adummy runner and let themselves get knocked over (Ablett is very well trained at this) you can guarantee it's gonna get pulled for obstruction. Even if, like today, the attacker goes through a completely different hole.
The rule is just a mess at the moment and it needs to be really looked at.

LOL, the average bump it up the middle team,with just 12 players seemed to find plenty of space in the corners on three occasions and when they couldn’t find it Carlos ripped you out a new one and sent the full back in.
