We didn't deserve that but at least we hung in there against a Hull KR side that was on fire for the majority of the game.

I enjoyed it in the well. The views not great with a section of the pitch blocked by the dugout but your fans were a credit. There was some good banter and you took that type of defeat exceptionally well.

To clap the Wigan team off at the end showed real class. I don't know why but the relationship between both sets of fans seems really good. Maybe it harps back to the magic weekend in Cardiff when Wigan would support KR against Hull FC and you guys returned the favour when we played Saints(we needed support back then as Saints would usually put 50+ on us).

I see a fair bit of Rovers and I think that you're not that far away, but there are some serious improvements needed at the same time. You could sense (I thought) once Wigan scored the try right on half time that they would win the game, and that was the feeling around where I was in the RM Stand.

I've been impressed with a lot of the kids who've played this year, Sheriffe looks like he'll be a good player, I'm impressed with Liam Salter, Cox is a solid player and Dave Petersen is good too, so a few more of those and you won't be far away.

Really felt for Scott Murrell at the end today, it was obvious just how much Rovers means to him, him and Galea are 2 players who I've always enjoyed watching for Rovers, especially the Scott Murrell of 08/09 before Morgan tried turning him into a hooker.

That's usually my fault.

Wigan probably just deserved to sneak it, you just cannot concede that many points and expect to win a game.

The lack of control at twenty six nil was ridiculous.

I did however enjoy the game overall, we gave it a good go, that attitude and effort was there.

Shed a little tear at the end with the departure of Super Ben Galea, The Drighlington Dynamo and Jake The Snake.

We've lacked belief and composure of late. Next year a few players will be a year older and a year wiser, but replacing Galea and Green with Paterson and Burns won't make us any more savvy, from what I've heard. Hopefully we'll get more game time from them, but we're going to be relying even more heavily on Dobson's direction by the looks of things.

Cheered me up a bit anyway. 2012 had the odd moment I sulkily forgot - putting 70 on Cas, nilling Widnes, pipping Wire, they just all feel a long time ago. Hopefully the experience (mostly of losing, but still) that the young players you mention have gained will stand us in good stead to move up the table a bit next year.

The signing of Paterson is a bit of a strange one. IMO you'd have been better off extending Galea for another year and giving Jordan Cox some more game time down the left.

I think next year will be similar to this for Rovers, finishing somewhere between 8th and 10th, but the year after with the kids a year older is when we'll see you climb the table again.

Not a problem sweet cheeks, I just get bored with morons such as your good self coming on here talking poop, when if a Rovers fan were to do the same on your board, they would be accused of obsession, or small club mentality. If I were to spit my dummy it would take your eye out, being pipped by the league winners won't bring that response I'm afraid.

I'm quite excited to see Paterson, looks like a player capable of the spectacular. We'll miss Galea's nouse (sp?) though - we don't have much to spare.

Almost the exact same situation as with Vella last year. It was time, but we've missed him if you see what I mean.

The way I see it, from comments that have been made, I get the impression that sandercock thinks we don't have enough aggression in key positions, which i could agree with, we have lacked an enforcer type player this year, and hopefully Paterson and Burns will give us this edge.

Wigan were toying with you. Instead of simply giving you the complete hammering which would have been predictable and boring they thought they would see how many points start they could give you before coming back to ruin your day. Hats off to them, they did it to perfection. I imagine losing that way hurt even more than just a straight tonking.

Cheers Nicky. I was pleasantly surprised by the East Stand's ovation for your team, but then we also did this 2 years ago - you appear to be making a habit of winning silverware in East Hull, you must tell us what it's like sometime.

Great support from Wigan yesterday, surpassing Wakefield & Hull to be the biggest following of the season. Lets hope you get a late season game next year and we can let you loose in the North Stand.

It was the best game I have seen at home this season (and perhaps stretching back a few more seasons). Well done Rovers and congratulations to Wigan on winning the LLCup.

Really enjoyed the game, gutted about the result obviously but pleased with the effort & passion from the lads. Shame we haven't seen more of it throughout the season.
