Made Turner look like a gargoyle a couple of times with his footwork in the second half.

Craig didn't do much wrong today considering he was gonna get blown away by brisco and yeaman, which of course didn't happen I'd say it was a positive game for him.

his defence was still a problem though, missed a couple of one on ones. but was good with ball in hand.

I like the kid but he looks a bit thin to me.

The two main traits of Yeaman's tries are as follows:-

1) He has clear "walk-ins" on the back of work done by Willie Manu

2) He receives the ball when parallel with the opposition's defensive line i.e. inviting forward passes because he doesn't have the confidence in his own ability or intelligence to create and run attacking lines or angles.

It's these two reasons why Yeaman is the most overrated centre in the league and shouldn't be any where near the England squad (unless it's for cutting oranges at half-time).

ANyway, I thought Hall did really well in yardage and I hope to builds on this performance.

What is it with people on here Craig Hall's defense is no worse than Welham's one of the worst defensive centres in the league.Gleeson went round Welham like he wasn't there a couple of times but i dont see anyone mentionig that.

I don't mind CH at all I think he plays well when given the chance.

Another defeat or two and you will be gone for another few months.

I think yesterday proved Hall is a decent back up but no way a starting centre, he needs to work on his positional play before he should be looked at for a starting spot. I agree Welham is suspect on his defence at times but when he does connect the player knows about it, when Hally does they seem to brush him off.
He did get better as the game went on but realistically if we want to push on he's not really good enough.

If we want to push on we have quite a few players not good enough.

And Welham scored around 50% of his trys when Dobson wasn't in the side

Yeaman has 5 trys and two competition points

He maybe taller but he's not better, the way he bounced of Yeaman was criminal. Websters positional sense isn't always the best but when he does make a tackle it generally sticks.

Yes Webster can tackle. Trouble is he tends to end up down injured each time he makes one.

Trouble is though, yes if it was a comparison of Jake Webster 2008 vs Craig Hall 2011 then fair dues Webbo would prob win, but unfortunately because of all the injuries he's a pale imitation of who he was IMO, whereas Hall I still feel will get better yet, and in any case offers us plenty in attack. Okay his defence maybe needs work, but the talent and potential is there, so I'd give him the position permanantly tbh.

Last season I would have agreed with you, but I think he's been much better, apart from when he is genuinely injured as he was against Wigan. But he does seem to have cut out the staying down after every tackle, which to be honest was really starting to get on my wick last year.

Apart from what people say on here regards his defence I've not really seen enough of him to pass judgement, I like his attitude and hope he gets a regular spot so we can all see either way, seem's a waste sat in the reserves.
