Don't park in illegal places?

Both the present Lib dems and the previous labour council have done very little for this city, imo they are as bad as each other , maybe its time for a complete change.

You sound like someone who would also complain about speed cameras, if you don't want to abide by the rules, don't complain when you get caught

Are we talking about the occasional type of speed camera installed to save lives, or the garden variety installed to raise revenue?

You need a reality check mate, the Lib Dems are trying to put all our sporting venues to trusts, and with massive rent increases for pitches which affects nearly every amateur club in the City, and increased rates for swimming and athletic team, they are risking all sports in the City, and as for Labour, I used to be on the cabinet, and in my time, I made the money available for Rovers new pitch, and the class rooms at the end of the RM stand, and dont forget who made the KC Stadium a reality, I also had an agreement in place for a new Olympic Swimming pool next to Craven Park, The Libs scrapped those plans.And dont forget the Libs refuse to let our Children and the elderly swim for free when nearly every other council does. So for you to say we're the same. is far from the reality of the situation.

Where about's on marfleet did they get done?

I saw them between Great Field Lane & Church Lane. Don't know if they covered a bigger area though. Loads of cars park around there on matchdays.

Most of the road is double yellows, but the cars weren't on the road, they were parked on the grass verges. I've done this before (but not yesterday fortunately) & I've never seen any signage to suggest this is illegal.

The cars were off the road so as not to park on the double yellows, suggesting most thought this was ok. If people were knowingly parked illegally they'd just leave the cars on the road wouldn't they?

If some sort of warning was issued not to park here & people chose to ignore it then fair enough, but I think turning up unannounced & issuing all of these tickets during the game (when they knew nobody would be returning to their cars) is just nasty.

But common sense tells you its a bit naughty

I think its someting to do with crossing them and then parking within a certain distance of them, I remember about 4yrs ago, a lot of residents down St Georges Road had a big row with the council over the same thing.

The ones which catch people exceeding the speed limit

Out of interest...who received a charge and what offence was committed according to the PCN..and what was the cost on the PCN?

I got one, been parking on the grass verge there for the last 2 or 3 seasons. They wonder why people hate traffic wardens and why Hulls population have hardly a decent word for the council, who exactally is being affected by people parking on the grass verge on Marfleet lane for a couple of hours every other Sunday??

Goodness me ,how many times must you all be told ?. You are breaking the law .Do not break the law ,and you will be fine . Its not that hard to keep within the rules ,is it ?

If you don't know that you are breaking a "law", or rather in this instance a non-criminal offence, how do you suggest people avoid this ?

I park in the school down marfleet lane.Two quid for secure parking and loads of space.

I should have thought ,parking half of your car on a grass verge and the other half of the car on the road was fairly simple to everyone thats its not right . If we all broke the law ,by leaving our cars just where we wanted .Can you picture the chaos?. Just a wee bit of thought and a few extra yards walk ,will save your a parking ticket and a extra few quid.As i have said before ,dont break the law and you will be all just fine .
