Putting the red and white tinted glasses on here so no doubt will be shot down but there is a part of me that’s quite looking forward to seeing HKR without Dobbo (as long as we get someone else in). Dobbo has been fantastic for us and I’ll never say any different but had we come as far as we could with him. For all the positives, and there were many, the negative of Dobbo is that it all goes through him and we are very predictable. It was often said ‘stop Dobbo, stop HKR’ and I can see that tbh. The other thing is I’m not sure Dobbo could adapt to not having everything going through him.
I don’t think we need to get in a new Dobbo, but a different approach may see us be able to kick on a bit. If as you say KK is more a hooker type 7, then that may mimic how Leeds play, and lets be honest they’ve not done too bad have they…

My thoughts on your recruiting is that Sanders is taking a leaf out of Wayne Bennett's book and is looking to shore up your defence. Wayne seems to think that you build a rock solid defence and cut down the mistake rate and the attack will come on the back of the amount of ball you will get. Getting rid of Pato, Mika and Dobson, who are all weak at defence or have a low workrate in defence and replacing them with three strong and enthusiastic defenders in Costigan, Weyman and Keating will make you a very different side. I don't know anything about the rest of your roster, but I imagine the off season will be spent working on defensive structures mostly.

wow I just really hope next season we win something, make it the year of the robins. I say this cos in December my mum died suddenly and my dad got confirmed to have vascular dementia. but he loved going when able to see hull kr even though he was born in wakey. well yesterday he got called up to heaven to play rugby with flash Flannigan so I just want to say I am very happy with how kr have gone about recruitment and hope we have some good times ahead

If you look back through this thread I stated the same thing when it was rumoured we were in for him. Did nothing in the 4 or 5 games I've seen him apart from the try against FC which was more down to dire defending rather than decent play. As a like for like replacement with Lynch you're losing more than you gain.

When was the last time either club were after someone who isn't described as "highly rated"? The Wail use this phrase each and every time a player gets past Ferrybridge on the M62.

Lynch has been a very good player for us, and he rarely misses games. Not as effective this season as last, though.

No doubt, sometimes the ones who come under the radar are the better ones. Must admit I've been relatively impressed with Adam Walker, really good steady forward.
