Its probably Dane O'Hara the way our recruitment is looking. Prefer him to Lupton though.

I really like Luppo he's a very clever player and much under rated imho. O'Hara is nailed on so i'm told, 3 year deal. Also one more to come from Crusaders i believe

Much as i rate O'Hara , who is a very decent prop and much better value than Clinton, a three year deal for a 31year old is silliness...

This and the three year , relatively expensive , deal for a thirty year old winger do not strike me as particularly good business..

He breaks one tackle once in every 4 matches too, so an ideal replacement for Clinton, if less ample of bosom. Perhaps you should enquire after the lovely Dowesy who is OOC, happy in the city of Hull, and has broken 17 tackles in 18 games this year.

Why are we signing these players now, especially the limited overseas quota spots which I feel we need to get right. Why isn't this being left for the incoming coach to put his input. he may have influence to bring in even better signings. All a bit rushed IMO. Not sure really how good Withers and O'Hara are, the latter is a bit old for my liking if on a 3 year deal, crazy!

Because both O'Hara & Withers (or any Crusaders overseas player for that matter) do not count on any overseas quota for the duration of their next contract. This makes them desirable to many clubs, that's why we need to sign them soon, and on longer than expected contracts.

Thanks for SirStan, the special dispensation bit clicked as soon as I had posted. This does obviously make a big difference but they will still reduce our remaining salary cap I presume so hope the prove to be quality signings.

Whilst that is the obvious logic, the reality is that Hodgson , O'Hara and Withers are all the wrong side of 30 and tying up valuable salary cap space on such players (players who have passed their peak remember, more susceptible to injury etc etc..) for three years smacks of rushed, non - thought out business..whilst O'Hara is likely to have had the blessing of the new incumbent i am not so sure about the other two, what if they are not to his liking..?? Rovers then have to waste money and squad spots for three years or waste cap money on paying them off..and whats the rush to become Crusaders II..???

Surprising, when it was announced that all the crusaders overseas players were receiving special dispensation, who would of guessed HKR would fill their boots?
