He signed for Wakefield for 40k per year with a car and travelling expenses. With all the wage reductions at Craven Park I can't see Rovers offering more then that for him to jump out his contract early.

When Dave K posted about Mariano it was a rumour, I read it and then confirmed the rumour by getting a direct response to the said rumour with additional info.

One or even both these players were rumoured to be joining Rovers when the Bull's plight hit the media (around Easter). Either one of these would be a timely boost considering the current injury list.

If where struggling financially like many suggest then maybe we should muddle through till the end of the season. Possibly bring Green & Peterson back from Batley & Workingston. However Maybe coming in for one or two of these players now will gibe them the incentive to sign for us now rather then another club for 2013?

I don't think Bradford going under would have any major direct benefits on our squad building. Indirect and on other areas that concern Rovers possibly, but it'd still be much better if they make it through.

I seem to remember CS saying he had room on the SC for a couple of players this season if he wanted. Whether that still stands I don't know. Likewise re the transfer proceeds (Wattsy) I don't know if he can use it for player recruitment

I agree with you and would prefer CS to 'muddle through' with the resources he has by giving the young 'uns a try. However, when the likes of Kopczak and Burgess become available it makes sense to talk to them. They are both young, have SL experience and possible future internationals.
