| But were talking about OOC players which are classed as oversea/quota malarky, are we not? Hence lovegrove doesnt count as the RFL class him as homegrown whilst playing for HKR because of the age he joined.
Yes he does have an english passport to otherever asked.

| I'm very pleased about Green. Seen him a few times in the U20s and in the friendly against Fev and thought it looked good. Just hope he comes on a bit more and gets a few games in the first squad this year

Let's not be racist here.
If you join a club before you reach the age of 21 then you are deemed to be 'home grown' in respect of that club.
Home grown is about which club you were at during your development years, it is not about your race, creed or nationality. Nor should it be.
If it was then it would be illegal. That's why Rhys Lovegrove who has a legal entitlement to live and work in the UK cannot be excluded by any artificial Rugby League imposed quotas.

Racist?
Sorry can you provide a link to those rules?
Can you also explain why Lovegrove needed exemption if he didn't need it?

Lovegrove (dob 11 March 1987) signed when he was 20 on the 30 June 2007.
Here's the rules on fed trained and club trained players.
www.superleague.co.uk/page/compe ... ucture/346
=#FF0000Club Trained Player
A Club Trained Player is one who has been on a club’s register for three full seasons before the end of the season in which he ceases to be eligible by age for Reserve Grade Rugby League.
Federation Trained Player
A Federation Trained Player is one who has been on the register of one or more member clubs in the same Rugby League Federation as the club he wishes to join (Great Britain for the majority, France in the case of players joining Catalan Dragons) for three full seasons before the end of the season in which he ceases to be eligible by age for Reserve Grade Rugby League.
If anyone has other links i'm happy to read them and be put right.

He may be classed as home grown but he's still an Aussie from Australia, go figure.

| Exactly. What the SL rules class him as is irrelavant really, he's Australian, along with 10 others currently on our books.
Until this number starts falling, we're always going to be on the receiving end of some stick.
The whole point of the quota/non-fed rules is to bring this number down and increase the English player pool. Our club doing it's very best to bend those rules to get 11 on the books is a joke, and quite embarrassing.
Starting a thread trying to be sarcastic about this fact, whilst we have 11 Aussies on the books, is quite daft. Although I wouldn't expect anything less from Philb.

I dont think the thread was started to be sarcastic on the matter. But more so to show we're moving away from the tag of HKA.

2011 tat
[i(a) ‘Club Trained Player’: a player who has been on the Club’s register for any 3 full Seasons
before the end of the Season in which he ceases to be eligible by age to play at Under 21
level. For the avoidance of doubt, where a player has satisfied the definition in each of the
2008 and 2009 Seasons and is on the Club’s register in both of those seasons, the Player
shall retain the status of ‘Club Trained Player’ in 2010 for so long as he remains on the
register of that Club but shall lose such status (unless he satisfies the full definition of 3
years) upon being removed from the Club’s register and shall not regain it simply by
returning to the Club’s register. Otherwise, and again for the avoidance of doubt, from the
2010 Season onwards a player must satisfy the requirement to have been on the Club’s
register for 3 full Seasons before being ineligible to play at Under 21 level in order to
qualify as a ‘Club Trained Player’ and the fact that he may have qualified as a ‘Club
Trained Player’ in the 2008 and/or 2009 Seasons shall be irrelevant.[/i
I'd guess he qualified under the 07/08 season (but not the full 07 season per the definition)
Hence maybe why he got the special dispensation to be allowed to have the 'club trained' whilst he's registered with us, despite not fully qualifiing in the 2007 season. (that's a complete guess by the way - I don't know or pretend to know)
He's not classed as overseas per his UK passport
([ia) An “overseas Player” is one who cannot produce satisfactory evidence to the RFL that he is a Professional Player in accordance with the EU Rules guaranteeing the free movement of workers and that either:
(i) he is an EU National; or
(ii) he is entitled to be lawfully employed in England as a professional rugby league player pursuant to a valid work permit and is a National of a country which is party to either an Association Agreement, Europe Agreement or the Cotonou Agreement with the EU; or
(iii) that he is a National of a country which is a current Full or Associate Member of the RLEF and has been resident in that country for four years and is a bona fide registered player who has played a minimum of five domestic league or cup games in a domestic competition in that Full or Associate Member’s country.[/i
[iFor the avoidance of doubt the fact that the individual holds and can produce a current passport of an EU member state or a country party to an Association Agreement, Europe Agreement or the Cotonou Agreement shall be considered satisfactory evidence of (i) or (ii) above.[/i

He doesn't officially count on any quota whilst he's with us - that's all I know.

Simple none confusing answer to this is yes. Which quota/non fed BS who knows, but if he leaves us to go to another SL team the RFL said before that the dispensation wouldnt be carried across.
