As it looks like he wasn't going to play, you can look at the loan as pennies saved or wasted. Just how 'bad' it is depends on what proportion we are paying - I think they should cough up roughly T.Newton's wage, which is convenient. Depends how much they want him and how much we want shot. Morgan claims Rovers didn't initiate, which, at face value, could mean they weren't actively looking to offload him, but if it was Cooke that instigated things they certainly would be now, you'd imagine.

I take on board what you're saying mate, cut your losses etc, it would make sense financially.

However if you think back to before the season started, Cooke was given the go-ahead to speak to other clubs then, which is why I assumed the club had a mix up in the wages being paid for this season and once they realised they would be over the cap, they needed to offload someone who was on a big wage.

So although you say the club didn't instigate the move to Wakefield, maybe they did indirectly?
