Never saw him play so can't comment. We have had better 7's in our NL days than the present incumbent.

Never in a million years was Smith a loose forward he was a good scrum half just Harkin took his place if I remember rightly

Why not give Craig Hall a chance in the halves, he couldn't do any worse than keating and he can definitely kick, it seems he is never in one position long enough to show what he can or can't do, his defence has improved vastly compared to what it used to be like or am I wrong and should we just plod on with what we have

Yes got my first season pass in 83 as an 11 year old I never said he didn't play there I said he was never a loose forward in a million years he came over as a scrum half played there and Harkin took over the scrum half position the following season

He was a cracking loose forward, played plenty there for rovers and NZ. To be fair, at the time the halfs and loose forward were pretty interchangeable and dorahy also played plenty at 6 and 13 as did dave hall.

Smith occasionally played loose forward as a fill in, we had Miller, Hall , Prohm and Hogan , all international loose forwards..

John Dorahy never played loose forward in his life, he was 1, 4 but mainly 6 for Rovers...

Dead right he was a good player who when he came over landed in Manchester the day before a game and we was desperate with injures so he played and got man of the match for us in the win if my memory is right and the rest is history what a good team we had then

It is getting embarrassing in the east stand I remember when we used to get behind the team and no one is saying you can't question a decision but this victim mentality is cringing for instance I never heard a murmur when Craig Hall knocked on and we got the decision if Gardners try had been scored in the same way by a Huddersfield player we would have been up in arms we seem to have more songs about the refs and the rfl now

I'll still give keating time, burns was an also ran last year and I think it takes a year to settle in a team for a half back. We dont want to turn into fc and throwing away good half backs too early.

As much as I agree with other posters about how poorly a scrum half Keating is. I agree more with the above.

I totally agree, I actually think he's not that bad, in a steady rather than spectacular sort of way, lets face it he had massive boots to fill in Dobbo, and who ever we got for the role was always in a no win situation.
