I cant understand that logic. If they stop funding HKR and they do go bust, they lose control of it. If the RFL bend the rules or whatever to keep HKR in like they did Bradford, then what?

Bradford weren’t rescued by the RFL, however much you think the RFL did for them. Bradford were saved by Omar Khan. If Hudgell and Crossland decide they don’t want to fund them anymore, and they pull out and HKR follow the same path, then even if the RFL help them in the same way, they need to find an Omar Khan to come in and fund them on-going. Which is pretty much exactly where they are now. Either Hudgell and Crossland fund them or a new person does. Whatever the rules are regarding any gap between those two points, long term someone needs to be funding them.

No they bought the lease on Odsal for the good of their health obviously.

I feel a lot more positive after what neil hudgell said on radio and I do believe he find a new backer to take the club forward. what matters most is our club not anyone elses. I do give a monkeys what mrs b and her cronies say. i see it as a new chapter in our history and moving forward

Im not really arguing the rule breaking, whether they did or didn’t isn’t relevant to the point im trying to make. Whatever the details of Bradfords help, or whatever the rights and wrongs of it, they aren’t really relevant either.

What I am saying is that the help the RFL gave Bradford isn’t going to change HKR’s situation. Right Now HKR are making a loss and Hudgell and Crossland are funding that right now but are looking for someone else to do so. If HKR take out a loan from the RFL and sell their lease and pay a market rent to the RFL then whats going to change? HKR will still be operating at a loss and still needing someone to fund that loss. They will just owe the RFL a couple of million on top of that. If they go bust, even if the RFL bend over backwards to keep them in, even if they go above and beyond what they did for Bradford. HKR will still be a club, operating at a loss, looking for someone new to fund it.

It is a structural problem in HKRs business model. It’s the most obvious and sadly common one, they don’t have the fanbase to compete at the level they currently are. It is a long term job to change that, requiring long term investment and that isn’t going to be rectified by short-term RFL help

When the Allams were in mid rant regarding Whitleygate they specifically brought up the cost of the pitch replacement as one of the expenses they had to cover without contribution from either tennant. So either your information is wrong or they were lying.
