Don't be so blinkered. While I agree that rovers fans should be showing this around to catch the culprits, the posting of this is a clear case of an FC fan goading Hull KR fans for a response which some have duly obliged.

What was 'goading' about the OP?
Like I said, there was an option to react to it in a couple of ways, and the posters who responded decided to go down the "well FC fans did this" route.

| Some people on the fans forum don't like fans of other teams posting on other teams boards.
Yes, I am a Wakefield fan, and have married a Hull KR fan. We were there that day in the East Stand.
Having read this, the comments on here and on Facebook, are they looking just at Hull KR fans regarding the trouble.
From where I saw it, the problems started with Salford's pitch invasion, when Johnson initially scored the try to bring the scores level, and then when O Brien kicked the drop goal. When they invaded the pitch at the end, they didn't just go over to their players and congratulate them, there was a lot that went straight past them to the East Stand, and started goading the supporters. It takes two parties to have a fight, and the authorities should be looking at those Salford fans too.
I seem to recall a post on the Hull KR Facebook page, of a Salford supporter in the Colin Hutton stand who caused a lot of the trouble, he also, according to the post punched a Hull KR player. If this is so, what has happened to them?
Another question, Salford are no strangers to crowd trouble. Earlier in 2016, there was trouble against Huddersfield. Were those involved in the trouble at Huddersfield involved at Craven Park?

| Or it could just be commenting on a HDM rugby related article? I read it and watched the video, took me back to being there and I can't make excuses for anyone else.what I will say is initially some very big Salford hooligans entered pitch prompting mainly young kr fans to meet them on said pitch the young lads were getting battered so more flooded on and it became more even.then the cops came in and took anyone out who persisted.a real mess and lessons must be learnt. The MPG is a game that only 4 teams and sets of fans have experienced so far and it is a horrid day (if you lose) but more security was probably needed and the cops in the ground I would have mixed with stewards.it wasn't a normal game or day and the scrapping whilst regrettable was inevitable.

Now then Mr wildcat.thats how I saw it as well.just stood there numb watching the fighting and was a sorry day.looked like a football firm and they were organised. I know it's a default setting that any knuckling at rugby matches is footy fans but in this case it was imo.that initial group muller ed the young lads who first responded.Anyway the fuzz will get to the bottom of it? Was hoping wakey would beat the curly turds on Sunday but rugby union esque penalty kicks saw them home .hope wakey go well for you this season

| Thanks Craig
I though that at the time regarding the trouble, and that there was a football element in this, given there were fans in and around the ground wearing Man City and Man United Shirts. I got slated on here and on Facebook of blaming football hooligans, which is a fair comment. Is it a pure co incidence though that on this day neither Man City and Man United weren't playing on this day. Also, they didn't play when the trouble in the Huddersfield occurred.
Yes, we weren't far off against Hull. Overall happy with the performance, and think we could go well this year if we stay injury free. Losing England in the opening minutes left us with 16 bodies for the remainder.
We have a bigger pack, added speed to the backs and now have depth in the halves, though think we do need to properly replace Scott Moore, though Kyle Wood has looked ok so far.

| Anybody regardless of club affiliation that entered the pitch that day, that shouldn't have been there should be dealt with appropriately. There were a bunch of 'youths' ran down the East Stand steps past where I was stood totally numb, and onto the pitch that were clearly gunning for a scrap and had no 'colours' of either side visible, its also worth mentioning that I didn't recognise any of them as usual east stand fans.
The match result and the manner of it was awful to watch, but what followed was even worse and seeing fans of both sides fighting with each other and physically and verbally abusing our players was too much for me to take and I left in a state of mind I would never wish on any fan of any club. As has been said; in future MPG's there is so much as stake that proper security is an absolute must, and wherever and whoever are involved this season, I hope their clubs take note of the debacle that occurred the end of the match at Craven Park to ensure that it isn't allowed to happen again.

I'd tell my son or mate to walk away, piling in sorts nothing. Most of what happened happened between people who wanted a fight, either through drinking too much, being pee'd off with the situation or they're just that way inclined.
He/she started it / it wasn't real fans of our club ect, are playground excuses. If a Salford fan had windmilled into the east stand then fair enough but if it was a bit of goading then people need to grow up. I've been supporting rovers for long enough now to know we have a minority of Richard's (and Richardesses) who support our club and are itching for any excuse to have a go.
The situation was embarrassing, the defending of it is even worse and bringing other clubs past misdemeanours into is it at best a straw clutching deflection.

| I couldn't handle going that day. Glad I kept away. These people need banning and the club needs to learn from this experience. The stewards can be excused because of the amount of people deciding it was a good idea plus how wide open Craven park is. But if ANY away fans think it's a good idea to run into our pitch, they need to be banned also.

| It's all opinions I was there like many others and I can only relate what I saw .I get the point about the excuse many times is it was city fans etc but from the well you could see Salford end guys putting up hoods and edging to pitchside.these were not just young punks but burly guys and the stewards had no chance of stopping them.that was the catalyst and everything else stemmed from this.i didn't go on pitch,no one did from well or West as far as I saw?but if I had seen someone I cared about getting a shoeing in front of me on pitch would I have been able to not wade in?

I haven't actually aired on opinion on what happened that day, what caused it, why it happened etc - yet I'm being 'shamed' for not acting upon something that happened within a hypothetical situation you put together. Brilliant.
To try and answer your question(?) though, no son or mate of mine would be that fkn stupid as to lose control of their senses and venture onto the pitch to confront Salford fans, no matter how much they were goaded.
See Barham's post, that sums up my thoughts on the whole thing.

You seem very naive about the incident. I actually went on the pitch to shake hands with some of the Rovers players I thought deserved on for their efforts, Sio being one. Yet had quite a few Salford fans goad me and ask me if I wanted some. I was sober and in a correct frame of mind to politely decline. I saw fans fighting on both sides, however if the Salford fans didn't goad fans in the east stand or invade the pitch at all, I'm pretty sure the rovers fans wouldn't have bothered with any trouble.
The Salford fans started the whole episode, FACT. And I can relate to the Rovers supporters who stood their ground and fought back, calling people morons or idiots for a load of handbags is laughable.
If you watch the you tube videos, you can clearly see Rovers fans defending themselves especially the 2 ladies who were defending their teenage kids.

| And as for naming and shaming? People need to let the Humberside Pigs do their own dirty work, concentrate on smack heads robbing 80 year olds, or mucky old men interfering with kids, I notice the Manchester Met police haven't given it a minutes thought, that's because they have real crimes like knife and gun crimes to worry about.
It really narks me off when they beg for peoples help, when if you are being burgled (either turd or house) or robbed, they send a PCSO around a week after the incident. Its not a case of "grassing" someone up, just a case of mind your own business.

ATEOTD no one but players and club personnel should be on the pitch even if it was to console players. The Rovers fans may have been goaded but its they who are at fault for responding. If no Rovers fans went on the pitch then there would be no mug shots in the papers. I personally would hope all decent rovers fans would name and shame these people. If they are innocent then there is nothing to worry about.

It always amazes me how brave people are infront of a computer screen. A moron wouldn't rake in the salary I do, believe me. Either pipe down or pop in robins nest pre Rovers matches, then you will see what this moron looks like. opinions are opinions, but its time to draw the line with the rhubarb now. My point is that of Humberside Police actually solving incidents by using their own resources and highly inflated salaries. We all pay over the top council tax so go Police, instead of Joe Public doing their dirty work. (This is different with murders, rapes, nonces etc)
