Rovers will be favourites and rightly so, at home, better league form and should be really up for it after the last derby.

But hull should be confident though as they ate starting to play better and look better team with holdsworth. Also we have yet to play well in a derby this year, so maybe due a good performance.

It wouls be nice to win, but like others wouldnt be too disapointted if we lost.

I think if Hull are lacking focus for a game, it'll be the Salford tie, the week before Wembley.

If Hull fans are content to have reached Wembley, then fair enough there is no pressure. But you could easily lose the final and defeat next week could see you struggle to make the play-offs. Given pre-season expectations, no trophy and 9th would surely raise questions about Gentle's future?

For us, it is a chance to almost secure our play-off spot. It won't be our last bite at the apple, but if we could avoid chewing our nails in the last round, that'd be nice.
Paea's fitness will be huge for us - we'd be a bit short of size and options in the pack without him.

On a serious note I reckon this is as usual a tough call. Also stating that the pressure is off Hull is nonsense. Winning the cup is very far from nailed on and they could still miss the playoffs if they don't concentrate.

We are probably 2 points away from ensuring a play off spot and we need to finish as high as possible to maybe give us home advantage in the first game.

Nope, it wouldn't. Despite our league position there is a lot of good stuff going on and we are in a major cup final. Would be disappointing not to make the playoffs, but if we don't it won't bring Gentle into question.

TBH, I don't think any club that finish below 6th should be in the playoffs anyway with a league our size.

After APs comments about the league games we have left I expect us to put the final to one side for the next 2 games and hopefully go on an unbeaten run leading up to wembley , last nights game was probably ideal for us after last sundays semi .

Ignoring the play-offs then, given that 6th seemed to be seen seen as par for Hull among their own rlfannies, or that was my impression at least, and if you win it would still be doable, then surely that's your carrot. and fear of trailing in, in 9th or even 10th the stick.

You made a comment about Huddersfield the other day that made some wonder what you were implying. I'm sure if you deny any sympathy with the EDL, then dayvoz will withdraw his comment and we can get back to discussing the upcoming derby rather than trading reminders of off-field embarrassments.

a rovers win and for the most part i couldnt care less. i'd take a day at wembley, win, lose or draw(pref win obviously) then a place in the play offs, where barring leeds, the teams that finish 5-8 may win 1 or 2 but then get knocked out by a top 4 side nearly every time.
to have a chance at a grand final appearance you really need to be top 4 quality and i dont think either us or yourselves are quite there yet, though i have to admit youve improved a lot since manchester n was a touch unlucky at wigan.

Im just hoping that this game isn't decided by a dodgy referee's decision. I want to see a good hard game with nothing held back. Current form means nothing in derbies as we all know, and Hull are in better form. I dont believe they'll have one eye on Wembly as the players know how important this game is to the fans so will be up for it.

Lee Richo got some stick off Hull fans on Friday night for being negative, but he was right in part. If we make the errors that we did in that game against Rovers, or worse still in the Final against Wigan, then we will get beat.

However, saying that, Miller is looking superb, Shaul was very impressive, Briscoe getting back to something like we expect and the pack are playing strong - so who knows!

Since when? Not read any reports from the Widnes game but prior to that my B&W friends have not been impressed whatsoever. Plus from the games I have seen on tv, not to good either.

Big suprise you not impresed with a hull player, when you have never ever said anything positive about hull.

Every hull fan I have spoken too have been impresed with miller and has played well in most games but inparticular thw cup games, hudds and widnes.

Still work to do and he should keep improving especially playing with another half back. But like all other fans very impressed so far.

Improving fast I would say. Not quite 21 yet and only a few first grade outings on either side of the world under his belt. Prone to a decision making error or two. Has great pace, confidence, a bit of the scrum half devil about him, a good length kick and some on-field presence. Needs a good pre-season really but has surfaced and is swimming at the very deep end that he was thrown into. Will be just 21 when he receives his first Challenge Cup final medal.
