Regular readers will have sympathised with my plight over the last couple of years through the decidedly average Filthy Bacon Wagon v.1 to the soaring heights of Filthy Bacon Wagon v.2 and the horrors of Filthy Bacon Wagon Wagon v.3.

Well, friends, The Quest is over. Since moving to a new office the trail had well and truely run cold, but then, like a condor sweeping majestically over The Andes looking for a raspberry ripple Cornetto, (or whatever it is they eat) The Porcine Gods have answered my prayers.

About two months ago a new butchers opened up within a couple of minutes walk. Said butchers offers their own hand made sausages and home cured bacon, cooked while you wait for the princely sum of two queens and twenty British pence.

As I stood in the shop waiting for these delights to be delivered to me in a white bread cake with the obligitory HP sauce, the clouds parted, and a shaft of purest sunlight broke through to reveal a host of porcine angels singing "Lip Up Fatty" by Bad Manners.

Like King Arthur drawing Excalibur from the stone, I raised the porky sandwich aloft and roared with gratitude at the sky.

The Quest, dear friends, is over.

Well got back from Blackpool and it's very sad.
There are so many boarded up hotels and shops plus that is the first time in lots of years that I didn't have to queue for anything at the pleasure beach and I have been at this time of year in the past.

We went to Morcambe today before as we left (Yes I know it's a bit of a detour) and it was like a ghost town.
It's when you see those kind if things that it hits home how much down the toilet the UK is ATM.

you wouldn't get HP sauce in a takeaway shop here, although barbeque sauce is a bit similar.
sweet chilli sauce is all the rage - but tomato and barbeque would still be the most common.
hot chilli sauce for the adventurous, but i can't imagine that on a bacon roll.

I think the thing is mate the days of "KISS ME QUICK " hats and candy floss are well and truly over.
I was born and brought up in Cleethorpes and can remember as a lad going to see the railway excursions (steam days

) coming in by the dozens.Now not one,even the coach park is hardly used.Its sad to see how many seaside towns are run down,but the trip abroad is the norm now.

But that's my point.
It wasn't a gradual drop off though.
It wasn't bad and then BANG and its been that way for at least 3 years (I went 3 years ago and it was quiet with plenty of boarded up properties then) I had been previously to that and it was never that bad.
