Well the Cowboys management obviously didn't think that way as they made no real effort to retain him after yet another club Mason joined immediately ended up rock bottom.
And are you sure that all the fans loved him? That's a big call as it paints them as being as ignorant and blinkered as you are.

| Quote ="barham red"TBF if you get the rugby playing Mason he is a sensational player and maybe he is one of those that can go out on the lash and still perform on match day.'"
About 5 years ago Mason suffered a fairly serious leg injury, since then he hasn't been anywhere near as good on the field. Before that he was a truly fearsome player, huge and quick, and so good that his always poor off field behaviour could be tolerated. After that the off field damage he causes hasn't been able to be excused by credits earned on the pitch. The tearaway Willie Mason is gone forever and has been for a long while now.

With apologies for bringing the other code into your board.
He's in the RU backs this weekend.

The Toulon boss has either a massive bank account or effluent for brains. Probably both.
He expects Mason to play in Gavin Hensons position, now that they've given henson the boot.
Sunday's game could be very funny indeed.

I played a bit of union in my youth and the difference between the codes certainly takes a bit of picking up, to think Willie can just go into a team with no training or ever having played a game of RU seems very strange. At his time at KR he didn;t seem quick or fit enough to play in the backs, unless they play him on the wing and make sure the ball goes no where near him.
First ruck / maul and he wont have a clue whether he can pick the ball up or not or when to let the ball go when tackled.

Been thinking about this. If we assume that Mason's first contact with Toulon was the week before he was de-registered, Rovers whole argument against him would depend on how informal this meeting was. If it was a friendly visit, a tour round the stadium and a visit to the Naval museum followed by a glass of pastis at one of the bars lining the waterfront then I doubt Rovers have much of a case. It certainly went very quiet after that and looked as if Toulon had moved on.
By the time proper negotiations were entered into and money and signatures were exchanged, Rovers had de-registered him and he was a free agent, able to speak with whom he pleased. So Rovers would have no case against him. Mason, on the other hand, may well have a case against them for breach of contract. De-registration would have severely compromised the terms and conditions offered by Rovers within his contract, not least the fact that he was restricted from playing.

Really? Really?
This how you interpret events?
You have a serious dislike of Hull Kingston Rovers, but come on, I've tried to rescue from you from yourself before, now you're just making yourself look bat sh$t loony toons'.
Rovers won't be taking legal action against Mason, neither will he against Rovers.
It's over, done. End.
You still think that Hull Rugby League Football Club is going to sue over Cooke don't you.
You've got a degree, at some point this country paid for it, any chance we can get a return on that investment?
No need to answer.

This is the state of our game. Remember, we invented it. In West Yorkshire, where you're from. And then we idolise phrases such as "pretty dirty". Our clubs should rule the globe, we're like Boca Juniors and River Plate.
This will be pulled apart, but sometimes I really feel passionately about our game. We haven't held The Ashes in my life time, will we ever?
Looked at this a few times. Yep, will look a tit, but every now and then you have to stand up.

Aye, the most high profile player in RL apparently according to a certain someone so what does that make Rovers handling of this situation now? Also the guy that reported the proposed move to France originally knew nothing as a certain someone was in the same press conference.

I've been thinking too, If we assume Mason had been talking to Toulon even before he came to Hull KR because he'd heard he could earn four times as much and Hull kR got wind of this. He then admitted this to the KR board once it broke and they told him he could do what he likes as he wasn;t going to be paid as he was in breach of his original contract, he was de-registered and he continued in his talks with RU.
Now what I've done there is very similar to what you've done which is just make it up to suit my own ends. (a very common trait amongst most of the FC fans I know).
O'Meley's comments are probably fair that Mason is feeling 'pretty dirty' about it all, he probably thought he could get out of all this looking like the injured party but unluckily for him he was caught out.
Yes HKR have made a pigs ear of this but I think you'll find the RL community has more disdain for WM than they do for HKR.
As I said earlier on this thread him playing for the barbarians this week is nothing short of laughable and I can see him making a complete mess of this as well.

I unintentionally lit your blue touch paper there, sorry. I was really pleased with the chin comment. Given, you know, Mason is well endowed in this respect.
I agree with your sentiments, but for your own safety don't disrespect O'Meley. PFU's Jonny Forriner of 2010, black boots and lunge action to die for. Me and Wormy are his virtual minders.
