Thing is we can't do a vee, because that is saints. A vertical band is Ajax. We've did the traditional horizontal band in 2008 and a variant on it in 2009.

As you said the 2009 shirt was a variant it wasn't a traditional shirt.
A traditional shirt every 3 years in hardly a lot to ask especialy when you consider that the club said that this year will be more traditional and then we get lumped with that mostrosity.

if its not a wind up, then i think it is the worst shirt we have produced in years, even worse than the 2007 all red effort with blue band and white patches on the sleeves.

Well, I'm very much in favour of clubs keeping their strip traditional, but given that's not always going to happen I do prefer this one to the horror show which was our 2010 home strip.

New shirt looks great IMO, 1st time ill be getting the home shirt rather then the away one for at least3/4 years.

Looking back over recent seasons there is something resembling a pattern, IMO. Every 3rd year the kit is mostly red (2004, 2007, 2010), with a very traditional mostly white shirt (2006, 2008, 2012?) and a mostly white one slightly out of left-field (2005 v-band, 2009 high-band, 2011 sash-band), completing the cycle.

I looked (as always

) at Hull FC for comparison and it has to be admitted they have knocked out some very nice shirts in that period, especially if your tastes lean toward the conservative. Even that 'virtue' can be taken too far though - 2006 to 2009, they essentially had the same shirt 3 years out of 4. 2006 and 2007 were very similar and 2009 they basically just reversed the black and white. In fairness they don't have a stock variant like we do with mostly-red, 2008 was an excellent tradional effort and in 2010 they showed that change doesn't have to look gimmicky.

They make you stink these polyester things.

I'm off in't buff from now on and I'll just paint a shirt, shorts and socks on like they did with those richards from Donny t'other year.
