When will you realise that you aint competing with us. You're competing with the likes of Wakey, Hudds, Quinns etc and the odds say that you will lose, while we will still be in the top 3 and enjoying real cup finals.

We here at Hull Kingston Rovers ARE indeed competing with you (Hull FC); in the competition currently known as the 'Engage SuperLeague'. Along with yourselves, we are competing against all of the teams playing in the aforementioned competition. As a keen follower of Rugby League i am confident to state the following facts: (1) each team in the competition starts with zero games played, (2) each team in the competition starts with zero points, (3) the objective over the season is to determine the best team during the season, (4) the best team is the one that wins the Grand Final, (5) all other teams are runners-up as only the winner's name is etched on the trophy.

The top four will be competing for the top spots. The next section of teams will fight it out for the two remaining play off spots and the rest will be fighting relegation. Without trying to troll, I would suspect that we will be in the top four, while you will be fighting relegation.

Are you really saying that if you are relegated, you will consider yourselves runners-up?

The beaten grand finalists are runners-up, the rest are also rans.

2 seasons ago the talk was of light years between the two sides. Now the gap is a trip to the moon in comparison. By the end of this season it will be a ferry ride across the channel. I predict 2 - 2 scoreline in the derby games!!

No way, I can't see all four games ending in a draw with no tries scored.

In all seriousness though. I think you'd realistically have to say that the gap has closed. FC were a top team last season, and improved this season to become a genuine title contender. They still have the ability to attract a certain calibre of player. We've gone up an entire division, and are now able to attract a far higher standard of player than we have for many seasons.
Having said all that, it all seems a fairly pointless argument.

I am looking forward to next season, already many have written the most famous name in rugby league off as also rans some say we will not reach double figures in the league table. I disagree, the players that have been signed are out to prove points, and bonded together as a team by the chessgrandmaster of rugby league Justin (The wizard) Morgan will be dishing out a few shocks next season!!

I also can't wait for the season to start.

Doubt that will happen really do you??? I do though think Vella has more to offer than Hutch. However they are two different types of prop. Vella will probably lead your pack and get stacks of gametime whereas Hutch will be used sparingly I suspect on a impact basis. So comparisons are futile IMO.

I'l be happy with 1 derby win and safety. The hull fans have to realise it took them around 8 years to establish themselves in sl and they are expecting us to compete in our first season! Common sense required.
