| I would assume if were going for Hoahia then it's for a replacement for Lincoln Withers. But then i heard on sunday that Keal Carille has signed a 2 year deal so would doubt he would sign a new deal knowing he will be 3rd choice hooker again. Anyone heard anymore on the potential Fakir signing?

| Is anyone SURE of the players that we almost have signed ie. do we have quota space ? Dobson had an exemption and Linc had the crusaders exemption and Cory the Scottish heritage.

I don't think we have to worry about overseas quota now, just non-fed for simplicity's sake.
Our 5 are currently: Burns, Paea, ET, Mika and Paterson. However many of those leave, that is how many spots we have. Dobson and Withers leaving doesn't help in this regard. But we know about Paea and pretty much about CP, so that is enough for, say Costigan and INBHTSLBH. If Mika left we could sign a third non-fed, but we're going to have find a couple of [udecent[/u quality fed-trained players from somewhere or risk having too little depth.
Briers for a year or somebody like Gaskell, if he's burned his bridges at Saints and Salford get Chase might be worth considering, as it'd free up a spot to be used elsewhere.
Hohaia isn't yet halfway through his 4 year deal at Saints, and for all that it hasn't worked out too well, I doubt he'd be looking to take a pay cut. If Saints pay part of his wages, maybe.

| Jamie Langley being released by the Bulls. Similar player to Dale Ferguson, should we be interested, or have we covered that base now with Costigan?

| Pretty much how I'd see it but it's not really a buyers market & we're going to have to do some domestic recruitment, could be one of the better options available.

| Langley is worth considering if Mika leaves, as it'd allow us to use Mika's non-fed spot elsewhere. Salford would seem to be the obvious destination for JL though.

| Langley would be a very good signing IMO, has needed to get away from Bradford for a long time now, his career has not progressed in the last 4/5 years. He is a player who has plenty of ability.

The third year of the deal was optional - I'm not sure in whose favour (i assumed his, with him being a proven SL player, maybe subject to appearances) but he's taken it up. Which I expected, tbh, but still good news.

Hope not unless he comes off the quota/non-fed list.

Or, more realistically Saints pay a share of his wages.
I'm coming round a bit to the idea of Briers, maybe with a coaching role for 2015 to tempt him. Age and injuries would be a concern, but he's fed-trained and knows SL like the back of his hand. And can kick goals.
With a Beau Henry type, there's the risk that it takes for him time to settle and get up to speed.

I can't see Saints paying him while he plays for anyone else. The players you are offloading I would expect you could afford him anyway. He has been terrible for us but he obviously has talent , maybe a move would be good for all parties.

His stock has dropped and you're stuck with him for 2 more years - we'd be mad to pay his 2011 asking price, even in this market. We probably can afford it, but it wouldn't seem good value. Not that we'd know one way or the other.

I’m always against signing ‘club legends’ at the back end of their careers, very seldom comes off. Would see Briers as a Shaun Long type signing where we all know he’d rather be at the club he loves.

If it did happen like you say I would expect it would not be made public. It's true we are stuck with him but I suspect he could match his money back in Aus without too much trouble given they are throwing it away and like I said he obviously has talent. The rumour that he has been told to find a new club does seem to fit in with the fact he is down the pecking order at Saints although he may get a chance at 9 now Roby is injured. If the rumours of us being interested in Chase are true I wouldn't be shocked if we were trying to use him as a makeweight.

| Not a fan of Hohaia although at the times he's played in the halves against us this season he looked Saints most dangerous player. I really do not understand what Brown has been doing with him. At Langtree Park against us he sat on the bench until about the sixty minute mark whilst Wellens ran at slow motion preventing any sort of fluidity at stand off and then he came on when the game was pretty much lost and fannied about at hooker.
We don't need him, I'd rather stick with Carlile and Hodgson at hooker, Eden at full back and Burns at stand off. He's definitely not a scrum half and that's where we need to spend the big salary cap chunk. Not that there's anyone available like.
