| Once again, I'm going to stick up for him.
The try he scored on Sunday took some scoring. He needs to back himself and his pace more, given the ball in the clear on Sunday in the second half he should have hugged the touch line and not come back inside, he would have been under the sticks, that's a confidence issue.
People are jumping on him and making him a scapegoat, he's got genuine raw pace.
I like Brown a lot, but his defensive positioning was all over the place at times, he exits very, very well though.
I think that if we keep Brown, Caro and Eden together and drill them as a unit could turn into a very dangerous triumverate.
All three have a hell of a way to go in defence, but, if we get them playing as commrades in arms it might really click.

Wigan beat us four times in the regular season during 2011. We beat them twice in the play offs (identical scores each time) and knocked them out of the comp.
League is one thing; play offs are an entirely different beast and, like Leeds, we still have players in our side who remember how to play them, even in knock out mode. So I wouldn't underestimate us.

In all fairness i think that is a good and accurate description of Caro and Brown.
In Caro i believe we have a player who is quite raw which has seen him come up with a few errors and lost quite a bit of confidence as a result.
However, he has something which you either have or don't have and cannot coach into a player and that is... RAW PACE!.
In Brown we have a player who is not quite as fast as Caro but is very strong and usually direct, however, one of his shortfalls is his positioning which you have rightly pointed out as all over the place at times.
Both these players are still relatively young(especially Caro) and if Sandy can iron out their flaws and instil confidence in Caro then who knows what may be possible with both of them in the future.
I believe all rovers fans should reserve any real judgement on either player until probably the back end of next season.

I do take your point about play-off football; the intensity raises and you do have a number of players who are well experienced in play-off football.
However, this version of Hull KR is not the Justin Morgan team with a wafer thin middle unit ready to be steam-rollered like skittles, we now have arguably the biggest pack in the league - certainly in terms of height and if Paterson and Paea are named in the 19 man squad later today then I just think we'll be too big, too strong and too aggressive for your side.
Don't get me wrong, a victory at your place certainly doesn't indicate we'd be contenders for the title, more of a case of that neither team finished anywhere near the top-four and we have the bigger and more aggressive set of forwards hence your recruitment of front-rowers for next season.

Agree about Caro; the incident at Salford when he didn't try and dive in at the corner seems to have defined his ability to many Rovers' fans - even though he picked up a bad shoulder injury during the game.
He was going very well before this and instead of so called "supporters" picking him up, he received a torrent of abuse 7 days in a row on twitter - something he felt the need to comment on. It's instances like this when I really do despair at the idiots following our club.
I think the instance when he could have taken the London defence on the outside was something he chose not to do because of the grief he may have got if he had gone into touch.
I hope he puts this season behind him and has a real crack next year because it may be his last chance of making it as a top-flight rugby league player.
As for Brown, having watched the game back on Hullkr.tv, it was his centre Heil who was at fault for most of the tries. Of course he's done his best but he just doesn't have the awareness to play the game at this level because his decision making is absolutely shocking hence why I understand he's been released by the club.
Heil's had several opportunities, maybe 4 or 5 games to prove his progress but he's not taken them which is a shame because he looked to be the real deal with ball in hand.
At the end of the day not everyone can make it unfortunately...

| Paea and Paterson in the 19. No Gleeson no Caro. Dobson and Horne in the squad also. Evryone else re-called as expected.
Hope Paea has a spell off the bench in him and Paterson can play. Hopefully Paea, Cox and Horne on the bench. Would counter Walmsley and Laffranchi.
Sandercock has played Brown's teams 5 times. So far he is played 5 won 5. 5 pretty comfortable wins also 2 against the Giants and the three this year. Hope these fellows are match fit as we may have a very good chance of winning this if they are.

| It would be great to beat them just for a repeat of the bleating and crying culminating in an official apology on their website the last time we beat them at their place. Shows what disdain they have for us.
Hope they lose the plot like they did in the cup game. Lucky to finish with 12 should have had 10 on the pitch by the end of the first half. If we keep it tight in the first 30 mins they will start losing the plot.
Sandercock deserves some luck and a win in the play offs.

I hope so. Brown has picked bizarre light weight packs that Sandercock has just targeted and over run. They do have their 'big' forwards all back and Walmsley, Laffranchi, Soliola, Puletua but they have hardly been in good form. They may hold our bigger forwards early on but they may not be able to maintain it. A fit Paea to come on will have a big effect.
We'll miss Eden who has had three great games against them. Burns destroyed them in the first 30 mins of the last game.
Walker targeted Walmsley at Langtree and put him off his game.

| No Carlise in the squad.
Does the General know something? If Paterson does play 6 it could be interesting. Be amazed if it doesn't slow our passing but it could be a master stroke against this opposition. We only have Hodgson and Withers for 9 so looks likely.
Unless there's some late squad changes...
