2 different, but very good players. Prohm was a great support player who was probably stronger than Leuluai. James could score a try from nothing and had possibly the best tow footed side step seen in RL for a long time.

Leulaui was great at what he did, but Prohm was comfortably the better all-round player.

Both great attackers, but Prohm was also strong enough to play loose-forward and was a magnificent defender.

He is the reason why none other than Gary Schofield failed to score even a single Derby try in 12 attempts!

prohm was a better all round player as he was more versatile but I'd say leuluai just edged being the better centre

Prohm, caps 23, tries 4, points 12. Played between 78 to 86..

I'm biased of course but IMO Jimmy Leuluai was better. If anyone can be bothered to find the Hull, Rovers facts and figures for each player, I would like to see them.

Prohm had power and pace in abundance, he actualy played on the wing once or twice when he first came over but made his name as a centre, especialy during that season when he scored forty odd ( forget the actual number) tries, great player and a real nice guy off the pitch also.

Leuluai didn't get near that figure but was a classy centre.
Prohm however had everything in his locker, was as quick if not quicker,stronger,better defender and turned David Laws into an international winger

Leuluai played for Manly in the mid 80s.

Both international class players with different strengths. We were both lucky to have them spend part of their careers playing in our city, simple as.

Correct. They would have made a superb centre partnership aswell. Skills complimented each other perfectly.

I was lucky enough to see Leuluai at Wembley in 1995, he was absolutely magical that day. An utter privilege.

I can't argue between two fantastic players, I just feel honoured to have seen both of them in their pomp.

IIRC he played on the wing for the majority of the season before his 45 try year, with Ian Robinson as his centre.

However Graham Le Saux once scored an amazing goal against Brazil but that didnt make him a better left back then Stuart Pearce
