Having never been to Australlia would Singapore be a realistic place for him to actually be - as in a flight would cross here etc.

I belive stopping off at Singapore is one of the more popular ways to do it you can go via Dubai and others as well though.

yeah we stopped in singapore...it depends on airline...Emirates i think stop in Dubai, singapore airlines obviously singapore. Cathay Pacific is Hong Kong.
