Heard this rumour as well. Very bad news if true especially as he had his best years to come IMO.

A cut above any centre we've had in recent years imo. It definitely seems to me that injuries are becoming a real problem in RL.

Why because of 1 other centre who had to retire? Hull FC haven't had a settled centre in years apart from the badge kisser.

Don't know, but it helped us to the quarter finals so fair enough.

Sargison was already at Wigan before goulding was released
and how does goulding taking a bad hit against Castleford that could end his career while playing for us have anything to do with why Wigan let him go??

I really hope this doesn't spell the end of a solid pro's career at 27 years of age. He's easily the best centre we have and the impact on Sio's try scoring since Goulding took that hit at Cas speaks volumes for his ability to put his winger in.

Lets hope we see him in a Rovers shirt again.

I'm with you Stan. He might be one of yours but he's a rugby player and I would hate to see any player having to give up the game through injury/illness. Hope he gets sorted out and pulls on the red and white again.

He shows what a real class player in that position can bring to a team, probably the best we've had in the centres while in SL.

Hopefully Goulding will be back for us ......Either way, he has being a valuable asset for us because his presence has taught Welham and Salter how to be an actual centre .....They are now actually looking to put their wingman away like every good centre should do! ......Hopefully this lengthy rest will give Darrell the time to recuperate and he can then come back and do what he does best, which is being a fantastic savvy centre.

Jake Webster never retired and played on average 20 games per season for us. Chev Walker had 1 horrific season and by that time wasn't event playing Centre as Kris Welham had taken his spot.

Think maybe he's alluding to the fact that it may be a bit of a jinxed position where injuries are concerned.

Jake Webster when fit looked class, trouble was he was made of biscuit and never went a game where he din't either get injured or looked down and out only to get up like lazarus.

Walker was never really a centre for us and wasn't great when he was, Gleeson? did he ever play for us?

I liked the look of Goulding in the games he's played, easily the best centre, I don't know but certainly looks a good prospect and hopefully he can get himself back to fitness.

After the initial rumours regarding Darrell I am hoping no news is good news.iif he was having to retire from the game.why would the player or club not release the news.
Mick Weyman informed everyone soon after his decision to retire was made.

Just been announced he has retired with immediate effect. Gutted for the lad. Just when we get ourselves a top class centre as well.
